About this role
As a Senior Automation Engineer , you will play a key role in the further development of our Industrial Automation and Control Systems (IACS) landscape and actively drive the harmonization and digitalization of our sites.
Your responsibilities will include, in particular:
• Coordinating and aligning all IACS-related requirements within the Germany Business Unit and the associated production sites
• Development of cross-site concepts with a focus on standardization, harmonization, and digitization of automation and process data systems
• Planning, implementation, and continuous enhancement of business-critical IACS applications, system architectures, and process data networks
• Overseeing and further developing the interface architecture between corporate systems and the IACS systems of the Germany Business Unit
• Working closely with the Corporate Engineering, Information Technology (IT), and Digital Transformation departments to leverage synergies and implement strategic initiatives
• Implementation, support, and further development of process data management systems
• Assistance with the preparation of cost estimates and project schedules, as well as their monitoring and regular project reporting, including budget and cost control
• Preparing technical bid documents and specifications for materials and services, as well as evaluating bids and assisting with invoice verification
• Managing interfaces with process control systems, automation systems, and field devices
• Selecting, engaging, managing, and coordinating external partners—such as engineering firms, suppliers, and contractors—with regard to quality, costs, and deadlines
• Responsibility for technical documentation and for ensuring compliance with agreed-upon project budgets and schedules
• Ensuring a proper project handover to the respective operational organizations
Your profile:
• A successfully completed degree in automation engineering, electrical engineering, information technology, or a comparable technical program with relevant continuing education
• Several years of professional experience in the IACS environment, Operational Technology (OT), or process control systems
• In-depth knowledge of the planning and implementation of automation, process data, and OT network systems
• Experience working with process data management systems, ideally TeBiS, ACRON, or comparable solutions
• Strong knowledge of IACS/OT network architectures, industrial communication protocols, and interfaces between OT and IT systems
• Experience leading and managing technical projects, including responsibility for budgets and deadlines
• Experience in preparing technical specifications, requests for proposals, and bid evaluations
• Experience in the regulatory environment of the process industry is a plus
• Strong communication and coordination skills, as well as a high degree of initiative
• Fluency in German and good English skills
• Willingness to travel within Germany
Als Senior Automation Engineer übernehmen Sie eine Schlüsselrolle bei der Weiterentwicklung unserer Industrial Automation and Control Systems - Landschaft (IACS) und treiben die Harmonisierung sowie Digitalisierung unserer Standorte aktiv voran.
Zu Ihren Aufgaben gehören insbesondere:
- Koordination und Abstimmung aller IACS-relevanten Anforderungen innerhalb der Business Unit Germany sowie der zugehörigen Produktionsstandorte.
- Entwicklung standortübergreifender Konzepte mit Schwerpunkt auf Standardisierung, Harmonisierung und Digitalisierung von Automatisierungs- und Prozessdatensystemen.
- Planung, Implementierung und kontinuierliche Weiterentwicklung von geschäftskritischen IACS-Anwendungen, Systemarchitekturen und Prozessdatennetzwerken.
- Betreuung und Weiterentwicklung der Schnittstellenarchitektur zwischen Corporate-Systemen und den IACS-Systemen der Business Unit Germany.
- Enge fachliche Zusammenarbeit mit den Bereichen Corporate Engineering, Information Technology (IT) sowie Digital Transformation zur Nutzung von Synergien und Umsetzung strategischer Initiativen.
- Bereitstellung, Betreuung und Weiterentwicklung von Prozessdatenmanagementsystemen.
- Unterstützung bei der Erstellung von Kostenkalkulationen, Projektterminplänen sowie deren Überwachung und regelmäßiges Projekt-Reporting inklusive Budget- und Cost-Controlling.
- Erstellung technischer Ausschreibungsunterlagen und Spezifikationen für Materialien und Dienstleistungen sowie Bewertung von Angeboten und Mitwirkung bei der Rechnungsprüfung.
- Betreuung von Schnittstellen zu Prozessleitsystemen, Automatisierungssystemen und Feldgeräten.
- Auswahl, Beauftragung, Steuerung und Koordination externer Partner wie Ingenieurbüros, Lieferanten und Kontraktoren hinsichtlich Qualität, Kosten und Terminen.
- Verantwortung für die technische Dokumentation sowie die Einhaltung vereinbarter Projektbudgets und Zeitpläne.
- Sicherstellung einer ordnungsgemäßen Projektübergabe an die jeweiligen Betriebsorganisationen.
Ihr Profil
- Erfolgreich abgeschlossenes Studium der Automatisierungstechnik, Elektrotechnik, Informationstechnik oder eine vergleichbare technische Ausbildung mit entsprechender Weiterbildung.
- Mehrjährige Berufserfahrung in der IACS-Landschaft , Operational Technology (OT) oder Prozessleittechnik.
- Fundierte Kenntnisse in der Planung und Umsetzung von Automatisierungs-, Prozessdaten- und OT-Netzwerksystemen.
- Erfahrung im Umgang mit Prozessdatenmanagementsystemen, idealerweise TeBiS, ACRON oder vergleichbaren Lösungen.
- Gute Kenntnisse von IACS/OT-Netzwerkarchitekturen, Industriekommunikationsprotokollen sowie Schnittstellen zwischen OT- und IT-Systemen.
- Erfahrung in der Leitung und Steuerung technischer Projekte einschließlich Budget- und Terminverantwortung.
- Kenntnisse in der Erstellung technischer Spezifikationen, Ausschreibungen und Angebotsbewertungen.
- Erfahrungen im regulatorischen Umfeld der Prozessindustrie von Vorteil.
- Ausgeprägte Kommunikations- und Koordinationsfähigkeiten sowie ein hohes Maß an Eigeninitiative.
- Verhandlungssichere Deutsch- und gute Englischkenntnisse.
- Bereitschaft zu Dienstreisen innerhalb von Deutschland
