MANTECH seeks a motivated, career and customer-oriented Senior Systems Engineer to join our team in Dahlgren, VA. This is an onsite position.

You will help plan, coordinate, and execute integrated testing events to validate the interoperability, software baselines, and performance of CIAT system simulations. This role supports mission capability assessments for Combined Integrated Air and Missile Defense (IAMD) and Anti-Submarine Warfare (ASW) trainers, working closely with engineers and stakeholders across NSWC Dahlgren and NSWC Carderock in distributed synthetic training environments.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

- Execute, validate, and troubleshoot complex tactical software baseline installations and updates while provisioning RHEL 8 virtualized environments to support testing and development
- Draft, refine, and execute comprehensive validation testing protocols, including Systems Integration Testing (SIT), System Hot Washes, and load cycle testing, to ensure software stability and operational readiness
- Establish, test, and validate critical data links, interfaces, and comparative performance evaluations between major platforms such as OASIS, NGS, and JSAF
- Diagnose, isolate, and resolve critical system, network, and hardware communication anomalies across interconnected defense frameworks, including FCS, SPY radar, GWS, and IOS
- Author and finalize Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), technical briefs, and step-by-step guidelines for live scenario generation, asset startup/shutdown, and console loading
- Participate actively in Agile ceremonies, including Big Room Planning (BRP), sprint planning, and daily stand-ups, while assisting with laboratory equipment relocation and configuration control
- Willingness to travel up to 20% to NSWC Carderock and other CIAT sites

Minimum Qualifications:

- 8+ years of general experience in Naval Combat Systems Engineering, e.g., AEGIS or SSDS, including the design, development, or test and evaluation of Navy combat systems
- 5+ years of specific experience in test requirements definition, test plan/procedure development and execution, test data analysis, or computer program performance reporting
- 4+ years of recent test and evaluation experience (within the past 7 years) working with real-time Naval tactical and support computer programs

Preferred Qualifications:

- Direct operational understanding of CIAT system architecture, infrastructure, and distributed synthetic training networks
- Solid understanding of networking principles, troubleshooting techniques, and protocols including DIS, HLA iFOM, HLA STF, and RTI
- Hands-on experience with tactical suites and frameworks such as SLQ-32, SEWIP, CS3, OASIS, JSAF, AAIC, FCS, SPY radar, and SAFe/Agile methodologies
- Experience supporting test readiness reviews, pre-test briefings, post-test debriefings, and automated test execution tools within Naval Surface Warfare Center facilities
- Demonstrated experience with tactical software baseline deployment, virtualization using Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL 8), and Systems Integration Testing (SIT).
- Proven technical troubleshooting skills across interconnected defense frameworks, tactical software suites, and complex hardware/networking environment
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to author technical SOPs, deliver briefings, and collaborate effectively with multi-disciplinary engineering teams and Government stakeholders

Clearance Requirements:

- Must have a current or active Secret security clearance.

Physical Requirements:

- The person in this position must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time. Occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, or to communicate with co-workers, management, and customers, via email, phone, and or virtual communication, which may involve delivering presentations.

The projected compensation range for this position is $89,100.00-$148,200.00. There are differentiating factors that can impact a final salary/hourly rate, including, but not limited to, Contract Wage Determination, relevant work experience, skills and competencies that align to the specified role, geographic location (For Remote Opportunities), education and certifications as well as Federal Government Contract Labor categories.
