About this role

DIRECT HIRE:  This role requires performing preventative and reactive maintenance in an industrial setting.

 Working Location: Hartland, WI.
 Pay: $22hr - $28hr (depending on experience)
Base Hourly Schedule: M - F, 6am - 2:30pm

Responsibilities: 
- Perform TIG welding on metal components and precision parts, producing clean, consistent welds according to engineering drawings, specifications, and production requirements
- Set up and operate TIG welding equipment, selecting appropriate amperage, tungsten, filler material, shielding gas, and welding techniques based on material type, thickness, and joint configuration
- Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, weld symbols, dimensions, and tolerances to determine proper welding sequence, fit-up, and finished-part requirements
- Prepare metal components for welding by measuring, cutting, grinding, deburring, cleaning, and positioning parts to ensure proper fit and weld quality
- Fit and align components using fixtures, clamps, jigs, and work holding devices to maintain accurate positioning throughout the welding process
- Weld a variety of metal components and assemblies while maintaining proper penetration, bead appearance, dimensional accuracy, and overall weld integrity
- Monitor welding conditions and adjust machine settings, torch positioning, travel speed, and filler material as needed to maintain consistent weld quality
- Perform visual and dimensional inspections of completed welds and parts to identify defects, distortion, incomplete welds, or dimensional discrepancies
- Use precision measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, gauges, and other measuring equipment to verify components meet required specifications
- Grind, clean, blend, and finish welded components as required for final inspection or subsequent manufacturing operations
- Troubleshoot welding, fit-up, tooling, and equipment issues and make adjustments to improve weld quality and production efficiency
- Maintain welding equipment, fixtures, tools, and work areas while following established safety, quality, housekeeping, and production standards
Skills/Qualifications: 
- 2+ years of manual welding experience in a manufacturing, fabrication, or metalworking environment.
- 2+ years of TIG welding experience with metal components and precision parts.
- 1+ year of experience reading and interpreting blueprints, engineering drawings, weld symbols, and GD&T/tolerances.
- 1+ year of experience setting up and operating TIG welding equipment, including selecting tungsten, filler material, shielding gas, and machine settings.
- 1+ year of experience performing weld inspection using calipers, micrometers, gauges, and other precision measuring tools.
- 1+ year of experience with metal preparation, fit-up, grinding, deburring, cleaning, and finishing.
- 1+ year of experience using fixtures, clamps, jigs, and work holding equipment to accurately position components.
- 1+ year of experience troubleshooting welding equipment, tooling, fit-up, and weld-quality issues
