Rewards Associate (Mebane, Danville, Raleigh)

Position:

The role exists to support compensation and benefits processes for the Global Supply Chain employee population while ensuring compliance with local legislation, market practices and the company's guidelines.

This position will report to the Reward & Org Design Director, working closely with the rewards team and may be located at either our Mebane, NC or Danville, VA manufacturing facility.

Responsibilities:

- Labor Cost Management:

Provide labor cost analysis, wages, and fringe information in line with Company planning guidelines, extract, analyze, and share budget templates using various reports to ensure provided data is updated and accurate, partner with Finance department on the budget preparation task and serve as main point of contact for all budgeting inquiries.

- Benefits Administration:

Support employees in the end-to-end benefit enrollment and participation process by serving as point of contact for questions while creating and maintaining self-service resources. Guide peers and management on statutory and federal compliance requirements. Ensure proper enrollment rules are being implemented and followed per plan rules, coordinate and process benefit enrollments during enrollment periods such as Open enrollment and Qualifying Life Events, support various benefit plans (STD, LTD, COBRA, termination of coverage, etc.), follow benefit related legislation updates, oversee Workers’ Compensation claim submission process. Maintain data feeds between enrollment portals to individual vendors. Share feedback and suggestions for benefit process and strategy improvement.

- Data Quality:

Create routines to ensure employee data is being properly maintained in HR systems and vendor platforms. Reconcile data for consistency and observe patterns to train greater team on areas for improvement. Communicate discrepancies and offer solutions for corrections if needed.

- Payroll Administration:

Routinely initiate payrolls for select groups, ensure required changes are applied or manually completed, and review changes in employees’ pay. Share required reports with Rewards Managers in a timely manner to ensure proper review to pay employees on promised pay dates. Support in communication and routines to line managers on proper employee time submissions. Partner with finance colleagues to share journal entries to account for monthly costs.

- Leave Management:

Consult employees on available leave benefits, administer all leave programs, i.e. STD, LTD, FMLA, ADA, state leaves if applicable, discretionary leave, and JTI Family Leave, liaison with benefit carriers regarding leave-required documentation, approve return to work dates upon completion of leave, ensure leaves are provided in line with current legislation and internal company guidelines. Track and inform required partners on status of individual leaves.

Requirements:

- BA degree;

- 2-3 years of professional experience in payroll, benefits and/or people operations;

- Seasonal and/or union employee compensation administration experience is a plus;

- Experience supporting People & Culture projects and change management;

- HR database administration and people reporting experience (ADP Workforce Now and SuccessFactors);

- Proficient in Excel and other Microsoft 365 Applications.
