Learning Experience Designer

Position Description

Learning Experience Designer (LXD) is a hybrid of an Instructional Designer and eLearning Multimedia Specialist . This role oversees the development, maintenance, and optimization of knowledge resources to enhance employee and client engagement. This role creates engaging education courses and self-paced training programs by applying learning theories and building the content using multimedia authoring tools. This role will collaborate with subject matter experts to translate complex ideas into user-centered digital learning experiences, assessments and performance-support tools. The position also coordinates and promotes training programs, managing logistics, communications, and materials through the Learning Management System (LMS).

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Responsibilities for the Learning Experience Designer can vary, but should include:

- Design engaging, interactive eLearning experiences and high-quality multimedia assets that align with learning objectives.
- Write compelling instructional content, storyboards, and interactive exercises for online formats.
- Review and update existing content to ensure accuracy, consistency, and alignment with brand and regulatory standards.
- Identify knowledge gaps and collaborate with subject matter experts to develop new, high-value content.
- Create and maintain curriculum and learning assets employing subject matter expertise.
- Employ a rapid-development approach and strong instructional design to build creative and innovative training.

REQUIRED SKILLS:

- Strong knowledge of learning theories
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- A positive, professional, and self-starter attitude.
- Strong understanding of adult learning theories, visual communication and user experience.
- Intermediate instructional design (e.g. ADDIE, Blook’s Taxonomy or SAM) and development across learning solutions.
- Practical use of AI to enhance learning design, delivery, and efficiency.
- Intermediate stakeholder and SME collaboration and communication expertise.

EXPERIENCE:

- Bachelor’s degree in Instructional Design, Learning Technologies or related field.
- At least 3 years of combined related work experience.
- Experience with eLearning authoring tools (Articulate Storyline, Rise 360 and Captivate).
- Experience with multimedia editors (e.g. Camtasia, Adobe Suite, Canva and Synthesia).
- Skilljar and Smartsheet experience a bonus.
