As a Lead Software Engineer at JPMorganChase within the Consumer & Community Banking Digital Platform team, you are an integral part of an agile team that works to enhance, build, and deliver trusted market-leading technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable way. As a core technical contributor, you are responsible for conducting critical technology solutions across multiple technical areas within various business functions in support of the firm’s business objectives.

Job responsibilities
- Executes creative software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting with ability to think beyond routine or conventional approaches to build solutions or breakdown technical problems
- Develops secure and high-quality production code, and reviews and debugs code written by others
- Drives team adoption of enterprise-authorized AI-assisted engineering practices within the work environment to improve code quality, delivery speed, and operational outcomes (e.g., AI-assisted code review/refactoring, test strategy acceleration, incident/root-cause analysis support), while establishing consistent validation standards (secure coding, peer review, automated testing) and promoting reuse of effective patterns across the team.
- Applies knowledge of tools within the Software Development Life Cycle toolchain, including enterprise-authorized AI-assisted development and automation capabilities, to improve the value realized by automation.
- Identifies opportunities to eliminate or automate remediation of recurring issues to improve overall operational stability of software applications and systems
- Codes in Web technologies (React, JavaScript and Typescript) and conduct end to end testing using (Jest, Playwright, React testing library, or Selenium)
- Contribute and collaborate in creation and consumption of open, standards-based solutions, while working with existing enterprise technologies and infrastructure
- Adheres to architecture standards, risk management, and security policies

- Ensures quality and completeness of the product through unit, component, integration, and end-to-end testing
- Leads, mentors and guides developers through code reviews, technical direction, and a culture of engineering excellence (Capable as well of independent delivery and platform-level support across all digital product areas)
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 5+ years applied experience
- Demonstrated experience leading effective use of approved AI-assisted software development tools (e.g., for coding, code review, test acceleration, troubleshooting) with the ability to set team expectations for validating AI outputs for correctness, performance, and security.
- Strong understanding of responsible AI use in engineering workflows, including data sensitivity considerations, secure handling of inputs/outputs, and adherence to resiliency and security expectations; experience coaching engineers on safe, compliant adoption within delivery practices
- Advanced understanding of agile methodologies such as CI/CD, Application Resiliency, and Security
- 8+ years delivering technology solutions (Web development, HTML5, CSS, and JavaScript, and Jenkins or a comparable CI/CD tool)
- Strong hands on expertise with web technologies: React, JavaScript, and TypeScript
- Experience with software design patterns and paradigms, including OOP, functional programming FP, and RESTful API design
- Strong, recent experience building production AI-powered applications; demonstrated knowledge of multi-agent orchestration, streaming architectures, security guardrails, RAG patterns, and LLM observability and resilience
- Experience in unit, component, integration, and end-to-end testing using libraries such as Jest, Playwright, React Testing Library, or Selenium
- Solid experience with Single Page Application (SPA) development and performance optimization for React or similar frameworks
- Experience with secure coding practices, including input validation, authentication patterns, and adherence to OWASP guidelines
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Hands-on experience with AI agent frameworks and Software Development Kits such as (Open AI Agents SDK, AWS Bedrock, LangChain, LangGraph, multi-agent workflows/loops; streaming architectures: SSE/WebSocket; security and guardrails: prompt injection, tool-level rails; RAG patterns: vector search, chunking, re-ranking; observability and resilience: retry/backoff strategies, structured logging and token usage tracking)
- Knowledge and experience with Cloud related technologies such as Kubernetes, Docker, Heroku, GKP/EKS, AWS EC2, ECS, S3, and Athena
- Hands-on experience with relational databases, GraphQL and integrating these with web services
- Experience with Server-Side Rendering (SSR) and Static Site Generation (SSG), preferably using Next.js
- Practice of Test-Driven Development (TDD) or Business-Driven Development (BDD) and Continuous Integration/Delivery
- Strong grasp of functional JavaScript programming, preferably with Node.js; and Python and Python for backend or AI scripting
- Experience with behavioral analytics platforms (e.g. Adobe Analytics, Amplitude) and experimentation tools (e.g. Split.io)
