Veterinary Assistant - Gentle Care Pet Clinic

Located in Long Beach, California, Gentle Care Pet Clinic has proudly served pets and their families since 1997. The small-animal practice provides personalized, compassionate care for dogs and cats, offering services including wellness and preventive care, dentistry, diagnostics and imaging, surgery, and pharmacy support. With a dedicated team and a focus on individualized, thoughtful care, Gentle Care Pet Clinic strives to create a welcoming environment where pets receive the attention and care they need at every stage of life.

We are actively searching for a Full-Time Veterinary Assistant to join our team! The ideal candidate will have experience as a Veterinary Assistant and Saturday availability.

Qualifications

- Experience as a Veterinary Assistant.

- Strong animal handling skills and knowledge of clinical procedures.

- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize in a clinical environment.
- Reliable and dependable.

Responsibilities

- Assist the veterinary team with patient restraint, handling, and treatment
- Prepare exam rooms and patients for appointments
- Obtain and record patient weights and basic vital signs
- Assist with collecting and preparing laboratory samples
- Prepare and maintain surgical and treatment areas
- Assist with surgical and dental procedures as directed
- Monitor and care for patients before, during, and after procedures
- Clean, disinfect, and maintain kennels, treatment areas, and equipment
- Administer medications and treatments as directed and within applicable scope of practice
- Assist with radiographs and other diagnostic procedures
- Maintain accurate and timely patient records
- Stock and maintain clinical supplies and equipment
- Communicate patient updates and concerns to the veterinary team

Compensation $20-$24/hr, depending on experience
