As part of our forward-thinking and nationally respected IT function, we are looking for someone to join our dynamic Systems Infrastructure Team as a IT Consultant.

What you’ll do:

As an IT Consultant , you will provide technical expertise across cloud, infrastructure, identity, endpoint management and security services, ensuring platforms remain secure, resilient and aligned with business requirements and architectural standards. You will support and enhance existing services through day-to-day operations, lead the resolution of complex technical issues, and deliver continual improvements to keep technologies secure, compliant and up to date.

You will work across a broad range of technologies and develop specialist knowledge in one or more of the following areas:

Microsoft Cloud & Identity

- Microsoft 365 administration, governance and optimisation

- Azure services and cloud technologies

- Entra ID, Conditional Access, MFA and Single Sign-On (SSO)

- Federated authentication including SAML and OAuth

Security & Compliance

- Microsoft Defender, Defender for Endpoint and Defender for Cloud Apps

- Data Loss Prevention (DLP) and data security controls

- Vulnerability management and service hardening

- Compliance requirements including PSN, ISO27001 and PCI DSS

Endpoint Management

- Microsoft Intune administration and policy management

- Windows device management and application deployment

- Device compliance, configuration and security controls

Infrastructure & Operations

- Active Directory and identity services

- Networking, storage and virtualisation technologies

- Automation and scripting, including PowerShell

- ITIL-aligned service management and continual improvement

The role involves providing technical advice and guidance to colleagues, service owners and stakeholders, helping to shape service improvements and technology decisions. You will also contribute to the development of standards, processes and documentation, while supporting knowledge sharing and collaborative working across the IT department.

What we’re looking for:

We are looking for an experienced and technically capable IT professional with a strong background in supporting and delivering infrastructure, cloud and security services within a complex enterprise environment. You will combine excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills with the ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

The successful candidate will have experience managing multiple priorities, contributing to service improvement initiatives, and delivering reliable, customer-focused outcomes. A collaborative approach, commitment to continuous learning, and the ability to provide trusted technical advice are essential, along with practical experience across Microsoft technologies, identity and access management, endpoint management, security, and core infrastructure services. Professional certifications in Microsoft cloud technologies and exposure to industry best practices such as ITIL, ISO27001, PCI DSS and PSN would be advantageous.
