The Role

We're looking for a hands-on Infrastructure & DevOps Team Lead to guide a team of System Administrators and help run the infrastructure behind our customer-facing products and internal IT. Reporting to the Infrastructure Manager, you'll split your time between technical work and supervising the team day to day. That includes setting priorities, reviewing work, mentoring engineers, and making sure knowledge is shared, not siloed.

What You'll Do

- Work hands-on across our cloud and container infrastructure, building, maintaining, and improving highly available, resilient, cost-conscious services

- Supervise the team's daily work: assign and prioritise tasks, provide technical guidance, and support each engineer's development

- Contribute to infrastructure strategy and product design, with a focus on scalability, resilience, and security

- Support our security and compliance work (GRC), including implementing controls and preparing evidence

- Coordinate concurrent projects and report progress, risks, and timelines to the Infrastructure Manager

- Communicate clearly during incidents, write root-cause summaries, and explain the user impact of planned changes

- Promote strong documentation and knowledge-sharing habits across the team

- Take part in the on-call rotation

What You'll Bring

- 6+ years of experience in infrastructure, DevOps, SRE, or systems engineering

- 2+ years leading, mentoring, or guiding other engineers, formally or informally

- Strong experience with AWS, GCP, or Azure

- Experience running production, customer-facing systems on Kubernetes or a similar container platform

- Solid working knowledge of relational databases, particularly PostgreSQL

- Strong scripting skills (bash, Python, etc.); software development experience is a plus

- Confident with Git and modern DevOps practices

- Excellent troubleshooting skills and clear written and verbal communication with both technical and non-technical colleagues

Nice to Have

- CI/CD and GitOps experience (GitLab CI, Jenkins)

- Familiarity with HashiCorp Vault, Keycloak, Rundeck, KOPS, or Helm

- Exposure to ISO 27001, SOC 2, DORA, NIST, or similar frameworks

- Experience taking part in technical interviews
