Job Title: Process Technician II Job Description The Process Technician II will play a vital role in monitoring and controlling plating process parameters. This position requires a proactive approach to identifying trends and addressing potential issues before they affect product quality. The role involves troubleshooting plating defects, supporting root cause investigations, and assisting with the implementation of new processes and equipment. Responsibilities

- Monitor and control plating process parameters including current density, voltage, plating time, agitation, and solution chemistry.
- Identify process trends and abnormal conditions to prevent product defects or process failures.
- Troubleshoot plating defects such as adhesion issues, discoloration, non-uniform deposition, roughness, pitting, nodules, burning, and blistering.
- Support root cause investigations and corrective action activities.
- Perform plating thickness measurements and quality inspections.
- Assist with process capability studies, SPC activities, data collection, and statistical analysis.
- Support qualification and implementation of new chemicals, equipment, processes, and process changes.
- Assist with installation, startup, and optimization of a new plating line.
- Collaborate closely with Manufacturing, Quality, Engineering, Maintenance, and EHS personnel.
- Support preventative maintenance and troubleshooting of plating tanks, pumps, heaters, rectifiers, filtration systems, and agitation systems.
- Ensure chemical handling, storage, waste handling, and laboratory practices comply with safety and environmental requirements.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe plating laboratory environment.
- Pay: $22.00 - $24.00/hour depending on experience.

Essential Skills

- Hands-on experience working with chemicals, laboratory processes, or chemical manufacturing environments.
- Understanding of basic chemistry concepts including pH, concentrations, chemical calculations, and solution control.
- Experience troubleshooting process issues and identifying root causes.
- Experience in electroplating and semiconductor manufacturing.
- Strong documentation and technical writing skills.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

- Associate's degree preferred in Chemistry, Chemical Technology, Materials Science, Laboratory Science, Chemical Engineering Technology, or related field.
- Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, or related discipline is a plus.
- Minimum 1-2 years of laboratory, chemical processing, plating, or manufacturing experience preferred.
- Experience safely working with chemicals and hazardous materials.
- Experience with statistical analysis, SPC, and process control preferred.
- Experience in semiconductor manufacturing, medical device manufacturing, battery technology, metallurgy, surface finishing, or related industries preferred.

Work Environment The position is based in a cleanroom manufacturing environment, requiring significant time spent working on the production floor alongside engineers and operators. Full cleanroom gowning, including masks, gloves, and protective apparel, may be required. This role offers exposure to advanced manufacturing equipment and engineering processes. The work schedule is a first shift, beginning at 7:00 AM.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of San Diego, CA.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $24.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
