Material Handler
Location: Woodridge, IL
Pay: $18.00 per hour
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 6:00 AM–2:30 PM
Job Summary
We are hiring a Material Handler to support warehouse operations by sorting, moving, packing, and preparing products for shipment. This position is hands-on and requires employees to be on their feet for most of the shift and consistently lift up to 45 lbs . Heavier items will be team lifted.
Responsibilities
- Sort products to determine whether they are eligible for resale, damaged, or require additional processing
- Repackage materials and products as needed
- Manually move materials, supplies, and finished goods throughout the facility
- Load and unload freight safely and efficiently
- Stack pallets and skids in designated storage or staging areas
- Pick and pack customer orders for shipment
- Apply labels according to company and customer requirements
- Process orders by picking, checking, sorting, consolidating, wrapping, packing, and loading freight
- Verify shipment accuracy and inspect products for damage or infestation
- Use RF scanners to assist with inventory and order accuracy
- Assist with physical inventories and cycle counts
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area
- Sweep floors, clean designated areas, and dispose of trash as needed
- Follow all company safety and housekeeping procedures
- Perform other warehouse duties as assigned
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to stand and walk for the majority of the shift
- Ability to consistently lift at least 45 lbs
- Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 lbs
- Heavier items will be team lifted
- Ability to bend, stoop, squat, crouch, stretch, climb, and reach at and above shoulder level
- Ability to work in varying noise, lighting, and temperature conditions
- Reliable attendance and ability to work the assigned schedule
- Ability to follow safety procedures and work instructions
