JOB SUMMARY

The Abbey server is responsible for providing the highest quality dining experience for our members and their guests by exercising the highest degree of professionalism and hospitality skills. By using the standards and procedures provided, the Abbey server will ensure the successful delivery of ALL OF THE ABBEY SERVICE GUARANTEES. 1. Once at their table, members are greeted by their server within (2) minutes. 2. Beverage orders are taken and delivered within (5) minutes. 3. Staff shows knowledge of menu and beverage selections. 4. Accurate checks are presented (3) minutes after the last course has been cleared, thanking members by name and always obtaining a signature. 5. Server to confirm member satisfaction a minimum of (3) times during their dining experience. 6. Employees promote a sense of camaraderie with one another, as team work and gracious hospitality are hallmarks of our club. 7. Staff use professionalism in business English, member guidance, house rules and S&P`s. The Abbey server must comply with all rules and regulations established by the DAC and its management, including the DAC grooming standards. As with all DAC employees, the Abbey server must display teamwork and camaraderie with their fellow employees.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

• Report to your work at your scheduled time, in proper uniform, professional, and properly groomed

• Understand and practice the DAC attendance policy

• Locate and gather all necessary items to perform the tasks ahead (i.e., tools of the trade)

• Communicate to Abbey Manager, Captain or Lead Server your arrival, locate your assignment(s), and discuss any last minute changes

• Gather the necessary items in order to set your section (i.e., silverware, linens, salt & pepper etc.) and have room completely set 15 minutes prior to opening time. Also confirm room is clean and fully functional and report any maintenance or housekeeping issues to a manager, Captain or lead server

• Attend all required meetings to include pre-meal in the Abbey, pre-function meetings, PEP meetings, and any other training related meetings

• Be in your station 15 minutes prior to the opening of the Abbey’s meal period, fully knowledgeable with a friendly and professional disposition

• Deliver continuous timely and impeccable service from the beginning to the end of the function

• One of the most important steps of service is follow up, (confirm a members satisfaction a minimum of (3) times during their dining experience.

• Practice the Greeting S&P with all functions

• Follow all established Abbey S&P’s

• Our staff members will display teamwork and camaraderie within their department and with other DAC staff members. Treat your coworkers as if they were a member

• Maintain proper and timely communication with supervisory team

• Responsible for the set up and breakdown of functions

• Assist in setting function(s) for the next shift or day

• All drink must be entered into the abacus system before being made to insure all drinks are accounted for and generating a time when an order was placed.

• Responsible for ringing buffet and ala carte functions through the POS system

• Maintain clean and organized cabinets

• Have full knowledge and understanding of the House Rules and be prepared to professionally report any infractions to your management team

• Assist management with departmental improvements and service training
