Position Overview

This role is based in Denver, CO in alignment with our flexible work policy. (3 days on site required, 2 days flexible).

The Vice President, North America Marketing & Communications will lead Vantage's integrated marketing, communications, stakeholder engagement, and reputation management strategy across North America. Reporting directly to the Senior Vice President, Chief Marketing & Communications Officer, this role will serve as the senior communications advisor to the President of North America and a member of the North America Extended Leadership Team.

As Vantage continues its rapid expansion, this leader will be responsible for developing and executing regional marketing and communications strategies that strengthen the company's reputation, support business growth, and build trust with local stakeholders, policymakers, customers, employees, and communities. The role will adapt global brand, communications, and reputation campaigns to address the unique needs and concerns of North American markets while ensuring consistency with Vantage's global positioning and corporate narrative.

A central focus of this position will be proactively shaping perceptions of data centers and digital infrastructure at the local level. This includes communicating Vantage's economic contributions, job creation, tax revenues, community investments, sustainability efforts, and critical role in enabling the digital economy. The Vice President will lead efforts to address local concerns related to energy use, water consumption, development impacts, and broader industry misconceptions while developing programs that combat misinformation and disinformation.

The Vice President will build and lead a regional team expected to grow to four to five professionals over the next 18 months. The role will partner closely with Global Marketing, Media Relations, Public Policy, Government Relations, Sustainability, Development, Delivery, and Sales teams to execute integrated programs that deliver measurable business and reputation outcomes.

The ideal candidate is an experienced marketing and communications executive who has successfully navigated complex industries facing regulatory scrutiny, public perception challenges, stakeholder activism, or significant community engagement requirements.

Essential Job Functions

Regional Marketing & Communications Leadership

- Develop and execute the North America marketing and communications strategy in alignment with Vantage's global business objectives and regional growth priorities.
- Serve as the principal marketing and communications advisor to the President of North America and regional leadership team.
- Act as a key member of the North America Extended Leadership Team, providing strategic counsel on reputation, stakeholder engagement, communications, and market positioning.
- Translate and adapt global marketing and reputation programs to ensure effectiveness within North American markets.
- Develop annual strategic plans, budgets, priorities, and performance objectives for the North America region.
- Lead communications and marketing efforts surrounding significant North American milestones and market activities.
- Partner closely with the Global Media Relations team to identify compelling regional stories and media opportunities.
- Identify opportunities for executive visibility for select North America leadership through events, speaking engagements, community programs, and industry forums.

Community Reputation & Stakeholder Engagement

- Lead communications initiatives that strengthen Vantage's reputation and social license to operate in local communities.
- Develop programs that clearly communicate Vantage's economic, social, and community value, including: Job creation and workforce development
- Community investment initiatives
- Local tax revenue contributions
- Infrastructure investment
- Economic development impact
- Sustainability commitments

- Build communications strategies that foster trust and transparency with community stakeholders.
- Identify and address emerging concerns among residents, business groups, community leaders, and other local stakeholders.
- Partner with Public Policy and Government Relations teams to support community engagement programs and public outreach efforts.

Reputation Management & Industry Advocacy

- Develop and lead regional reputation campaigns that improve understanding of digital infrastructure and the role data centers play in modern society.
- Create programs that proactively address concerns regarding energy consumption, water usage, land use, and environmental impact.
- Lead efforts to identify, monitor, and respond to misinformation and disinformation affecting Vantage, individual projects, or the broader data center industry in North America.
- Develop communication frameworks and educational content that help stakeholders better understand the industry's benefits, challenges, and innovations.

Content Strategy & Brand Storytelling

- Work closely with the Senior Director, Social Media & Content Strategy to create compelling regional content programs.
- Develop market-specific storytelling initiatives that highlight Vantage's impact across North America.
- Generate creative content showcasing customer innovation, community partnerships, sustainability initiatives, employee stories, and development milestones.
- Ensure North American content priorities are reflected across social media, web, earned media, digital campaigns, and executive communications.
- Drive the development of localized content that supports community engagement and reputation objectives.
- Oversee regional digital marketing initiatives, local market campaigns, and stakeholder engagement programs and lead strategy and content for local microsites.
- Manage regional social media channels and local engagement initiatives in priority markets.
- Oversee local and regional advertising campaigns supporting reputation, community engagement, development projects, and business priorities.

Sales Enablement & Commercial Marketing

- Partner closely with North America Sales, Development, and Delivery teams to support business growth objectives.
- Develop B2B marketing programs, customer-facing content, case studies, presentations, and thought leadership materials.
- Create compelling content that differentiates Vantage's capabilities, customer experience, development expertise, operational excellence, and sustainability leadership.
- Collaborate with hyperscale customers on coordinated announcements and communications strategies where appropriate.

Events & Market Engagement

- Oversee strategy and execution for high profile events including but not limited to: mew market entries, groundbreaking ceremonies, grand openings, trade shows, community town halls local market engagement programs
- Ensure events support broader business, reputation, and stakeholder engagement objectives.

Team Leadership & Development

- Build, lead, and develop a high-performing North America marketing and communications team expected to grow to four to five professionals within 18 months.
- Establish team priorities, performance goals, and professional development plans.
- Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, creativity, and operational excellence.
- Manage agency relationships, consultants, vendors, and other external partners.
- Develop scalable regional marketing and communications processes and governance structures.

Measurement, Budget & Performance Management

- Establish clear KPIs and measurement frameworks tied to reputation, community engagement, marketing performance, and business outcomes.
- Track and report on campaign effectiveness, stakeholder sentiment, audience engagement, share of voice, digital performance, and return on investment.
- Manage and optimize regional marketing and communications budgets.
- Allocate resources effectively to maximize reputation and business impact.
- Deliver regular insights and recommendations to executive leadership.

Job Requirements

- Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Public Affairs, Business, or a related field required.
- 15+ years of progressive experience in marketing, communications, public affairs, reputation management, stakeholder engagement, or related disciplines.
- Minimum 7 years of leadership experience managing teams and complex communications programs.
- Proven success leading regional or national marketing and communications functions within large, complex organizations.
- Demonstrated experience managing reputation, stakeholder engagement, community relations, and issue communications.
- Strong understanding of integrated marketing, digital communications, content strategy, advertising, and audience engagement.
- Significant experience operating in complex industries facing regulatory scrutiny, public perception challenges, political sensitivity, community opposition, or stakeholder activism.
- Proven ability to build trust and credibility among diverse stakeholder groups.
- Experience partnering closely with executive leadership and business unit presidents.
- Strong understanding of crisis communications, issues management, and reputation protection.
- Exceptional written, verbal, and executive communications skills.
- Experience managing budgets, agencies, and cross-functional teams.
- Ability to operate effectively within a global, matrixed organization.
- Data center, digital infrastructure, energy, telecommunications, real estate development, utilities, industrial, technology, transportation, or similarly complex industries preferred.
- Travel required is expected to be up to 30% but may increase over time as the business evolves.

Within the first 12-18 months, this leader will:

- Establish a fully integrated reputation-led marketing and communications function for North America.
- Build and develop a high-performing regional team supporting the company's largest market.

Additional Details

- Salary Range: $260,000 -275,000 Base + Bonus (this range is based on Colorado market data and may vary in other locations)
