Bookkeeper

Department: Accounting/Admin

Reports To: Controller

Position Type: Full-Time, Year Round

Schedule / Hours: Standard business hours; Monday-Friday

POSITION OVERVIEW

The Bookkeeper maintains financial transaction records and assists with day-to-day accounting and finance requirements. Confidentiality, excellent organizational skills, and accuracy are important qualifications, as well as good customer relations and the ability to communicate clearly. The ideal candidate is a skilled multitasker, is reliable, and is committed to consistently meeting deadlines.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

- Enter member payments and vendor invoices.

- Engage members as the first point of contact for billing inquiries.

- Reconcile daily Point of Sale transactions, including tip splits.

- Count and replenish daily cash bags.

- Assist Controller with payroll processing, including reconciling benefit deductions and contributions.

- Enter cash payment receipts and reconcile petty cash.

- Process timely bank deposits.

- Assist Controller with deposit and expense reconciliations.

QUALIFICATIONS

- Bookkeeping experience required.

- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Excel, and ideally Jonas software.

- Experience with data entry, record keeping, and computer operation.

- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.

- Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines consistently.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

- Ability to lift up to 15 lbs as needed.
