Role Summary
The Associate on the Client Reporting Team, within the Northern Trust Asset Management COO office, is primarily responsible for supporting the development, compilation and distribution of client and product data and insight delivery across diverse portfolio strategies including fixed income, equity, multi asset class, and ESG. This individual partners with stakeholders and clients in a matrix-style organizational framework to ensure the accurate, timely and precise delivery of client and product insights. This role is instrumental in narrating Northern Trust Asset Management’s value proposition to internal and external clients and business partners.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be focused on achieving excellence in Client Reporting for a global asset management firm. Day to day responsibilities include:
- Supports the development , compilation and distribution of a broad range of client reports, including but not limited to factsheets, investment reports, accounting and performance reports.
- Works with internal operations teams to ensure the accuracy of underlying client, fund, and/or strategy data.
- Assists with projects and/or process improvement initiatives in relation to Client Reporting and associated functions.
- Identifies & assists in implementing improvements to existing processes to further gain operational efficiency and productivity. Is innovation-driven and passionate about process improvement.
- Identifies, designs and implements data quality checks in conjunction with Chief Data Office to solidify data integrity in a speedy and accurate manner.
- Interface with portfolio managers, relationship managers and other business partners in order to understand client needs and improve reporting.
- Stays abreast of investment reporting capabilities and solutions across the asset management industry to ensure NTAM is competitively positioned.
Necessary Knowledge and Skills
- Highly motivated, flexible and adaptable to change with an innovation-centric approach.
- Ability to operate in a deadline driven environment while still maintaining a strict attention to detail and ability to prioritize issues appropriately.
- Conceptual knowledge with Investment Management applications and systems such as Aladdin Blackrock and Eagle a plus.
- Solid business analysis skills with evidence of problem solving in previous roles beneficial to the applicant.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Office applications.
- Advanced Excel/VBA and SQL is a plus.
Necessary Experience and Education
- 1-2+ years of experience in Financial Services (Investment Accounting, Finance Operations or Fund Accounting, etc.) is required; Asset Management experience preferred, however will consider recent College/University graduates if field of study is applicable.
- A College or University degree and/or relevant proven work experience.
- Versed in market trends, financial concepts and asset class varieties.
- General Knowledge of investment management principles, strategies, and policies and regulations applicable to the investment management industry.
Salary Range:
$61,500 - 98,300 USD
Salary range is a good faith estimate of base pay. Northern Trust provides a comprehensive benefits package including retirement benefits (401k and pension), health and welfare benefits (medical, dental, vision, spending accounts and disability), paid time off, parental and caregiver leave, life & accident insurance, and other voluntary and well-being benefits. Northern Trust also provides a discretionary bonus program that may include an equity component.
