What you'll be doing
As a Team Portfolio Specialist , you'll support bankers and clients by coordinating financial information collection, monitoring portfolio requirements, and helping keep lending and servicing activities on track. You'll play an important role in reducing past due items, facilitating timely renewals and annual reviews, and supporting day-to-day portfolio administration. You'll also assist with research, prospecting support, and analysis that helps bankers focus on client relationships and business development. This is a collaborative role where your attention to detail, follow-through, and ability to manage competing priorities will help drive a strong client and partner experience.

How you'll succeed
- Support portfolio management activities - Reach out to clients to collect financial information in advance of renewal and annual review due dates, helping reduce past due items and support timely underwriting.
- Coordinate documentation and monitoring - Upload collected items into required systems, support covenant testing, follow up on updated insurance certificates, and assist with the resolution of portfolio-related exceptions.
- Help manage client servicing needs - Contact clients regarding past due loan payments, reimbursable fees, and collateral shortfalls, while keeping bankers informed and helping ensure timely follow-up and resolution.
- Maintain portfolio data quality - Process and oversee householding changes, officer assignment updates, and profit center corrections, while performing quality checks to ensure accuracy.
- Contribute to business development support - Assist bankers with prospecting activities, including call list development, customer relationship management updates, and preparing materials for client meetings.
- Provide research, analysis, and team support - Conduct background research on prospects and collateral, assist with covenant calculations and portfolio analysis, support special projects, and provide backup coverage when bankers are away from the office.
Who you are
- You have relevant portfolio or banking experience. You bring experience in private banking, commercial banking, wealth management, lending support, portfolio administration, or a related financial services environment.
- You're highly organized and detail oriented. You can manage multiple priorities at once, follow through on time-sensitive requests, and maintain a high standard of accuracy in your work.
- You're comfortable working with clients and internal partners. You communicate clearly and professionally, and you're confident following up with clients and collaborating with bankers and business partners to move work forward.
- You have strong analytical and administrative skills. You can review information, support covenant and collateral-related analysis, conduct research, and work effectively with systems and spreadsheets.
- You're a proactive team player. You step in to support shared goals, adapt to changing priorities, and are comfortable helping with projects and backup coverage as business needs evolve.
- You have the education to support the role. You have a college diploma or university degree in business, finance, economics, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.

At CIBC, we offer a competitive total rewards package. This role has an expected salary range of $65,000 - $80,000 for the Chicago, IL market based on experience, qualifications, and location of the position. The successful candidate may be eligible to participate in the relevant business unit’s incentive compensation plan, which also may include a discretionary bonus component.
