Position Overview: The Contract Specialist manages and oversees the contract lifecycle, ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements, and providing strategic support in contract negotiations and administration. This role involves interaction with internal and external stakeholders, maintaining detailed contract documentation, and contributing to process improvements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage all aspects of government contracts, including drafting, negotiation, and execution
- Ensure contracts adhere to government regulations, policies, and procedures
- Monitor contract performance for compliance and address issues promptly
- Evaluate contract proposals and provide recommendations
- Conduct negotiations and facilitate contract modifications
- Maintain accurate contract records and prepare reports Identify and mitigate contract-related risks
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders, government officials, and contractors
- Monitor contract budgets and expenditures
Required Skills:
- Knowledge of contract law and regulatory requirements
- Proficiency in contract management software and tools
- Strong analytical, negotiation, and decision-making abilities
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to manage multiple complex tasks and meet tight deadlines
- Experience with process improvement and team collaboration
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree (BA/BS) and at least 3 years of relevant experience, or Master’s degree (MA/MS), or Associate’s degree and at least 7 years of relevant experience
- Secret clearance required
- Experience in government contract administration or procurement
- Comprehensive understanding of federal acquisition regulations (FAR)
