Job Title: Financial Analyst Job Description The Financial Analyst supports the planning, forecasting, analysis, and reporting of station Operations & Maintenance (O&M) and Capital budgets. This role focuses on developing annual department budgets and major project forecasts, analyzing financial data, preparing monthly financial forecasts, and producing clear, insightful reports for corporate and station leadership. The position requires strong analytical skills, proficiency with large-scale ERP systems, and the ability to leverage accounting and information systems to ensure accurate financial management and informed decision-making. Responsibilities
- Support the planning, forecasting, analysis, and reporting of station Operations & Maintenance (O&M) and Capital budgets.
- Assist with the development of annual department budgets and major project forecasts, ensuring accuracy and alignment with organizational goals.
- Analyze financial data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities, and provide clear recommendations based on findings.
- Prepare monthly financial forecasts and update projections to reflect current business conditions.
- Investigate, reconcile, and resolve accounting issues, including discrepancies in accounts and financial records.
- Record, classify, and summarize financial transactions in accordance with established accounting policies and procedures.
- Prepare special financial reports and analyses for corporate and station leadership to support strategic and operational decision-making.
- Develop and maintain reports that clearly explain budget-to-forecast variances and key drivers of financial performance.
- Perform reconciliations, journal entries, and month-end close activities when supporting general ledger accounting.
- Conduct forecasting, budgeting, and variance analysis activities when supporting financial planning and analysis (FP&A).
- Leverage large-scale ERP systems and Excel tools, including pivot tables and VLOOKUPs, to manage and analyze financial data efficiently.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather financial information and ensure consistency and accuracy in reporting.
- Continuously improve financial processes, reporting, and analysis methods to enhance efficiency and data quality.
Essential Skills
- Bachelors degree in accounting or finance.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in either general ledger (GL) accounting or financial planning and analysis (FP&A).
- Experience in month-end close activities, including reconciliations, journal entries, and financial statement preparation for accounting-focused candidates.
- Experience in forecasting, budgeting, and variance analysis for FP&A-focused candidates.
- Hands-on experience with reconciliations and variance analysis.
- Strong budgeting and forecasting capabilities.
- Ability to create pivot tables and use VLOOKUP functions in Microsoft Excel.
- Proficiency with large-scale ERP systems such as SAP, Workday, Oracle, SAGE, NetSuite, Microsoft Dynamics, or Infor.
- Experience working for a company with revenue over $100 million.
- Solid understanding of financial statements and core accounting principles.
- Ability to investigate and resolve accounting issues and discrepancies.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience using Workday as a primary ERP system.
- Ability to create and use macros in Excel to automate and streamline financial processes.
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) credential is a plus.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail in financial data and reporting.
- Ability to communicate financial insights clearly to non-financial stakeholders.
- Comfort working with large data sets and complex financial models.
- Interest in contributing to an organization focused on clean energy and sustainability.
Work Environment This position is fully onsite and follows a four-day work week schedule, with 10-hour days from Monday through Thursday. The role operates in a professional corporate environment that uses large-scale ERP systems such as SAP, Workday, Oracle, SAGE, NetSuite, Microsoft Dynamics, or Infor, along with advanced Excel tools including pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, and macros. Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $28.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
