COMMUNICATIONS SPECIALIST SR PRINCIPAL

Support mission-critical initiatives and enable the growth of our business as a Communications Specialist Sr Principal at GDIT. Here, you’ll become an integral part of how GDIT is able to ensure the safety and security of our nation.

MEANINGFUL WORK AND PERSONAL IMPACT

As a Communications Specialist Sr Principal, the work you’ll do at GDIT will be impactful to the mission of Department of Defense customer. You will play a crucial role in turning technical plans and concepts into photorealistic 3D models, renderings, and cinematic 3D videos, and in producing the photography and printed products that help leaders understand, plan, and brief mission-critical projects.

● Lead the creation of photorealistic 3D models, renderings, and high-end 3D videos, from animated facility flythroughs to equipment and concept animations, along with official portraits, event coverage, and studio photography.

● Collaborate with engineers, project managers, subject matter experts, and customer staff to storyboard concepts, translate drawings and specifications into accurate visuals, and schedule and deliver video, photo, and print requests

● Drive polished, presentation-ready results that speed up decision-making, and keep the studio running smoothly by managing equipment, supplies, work requests, and digital asset archives.

● Utilize industry-standard 3D modeling, animation, and rendering software, video editing and compositing tools, professional cameras, studio lighting, and photo and large-format printers.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED

Bring your initiative and drive for innovation to GDIT. The Communications Specialist Sr Principal must have:

● Education: Bachelor of Arts/Bachelor of Science

● Experience: 10+ years of related experience

● Technical skills: Advanced 3D modeling with clean topology and real-world dimensional accuracy built from CAD drawings and specifications; UV mapping and physically based (PBR) texturing; realistic lighting and photorealistic rendering; cinematic 3D animation, including camera moves, keyframe animation, and animated flythroughs; storyboarding and shot planning; rendering and managing image sequences within production deadlines; video editing, compositing, motion graphics, and color grading to produce finished videos with music, voiceover, and titles; knowledge of video formats, frame rates, codecs, and delivery specifications; professional photography with DSLR or mirrorless cameras and studio lighting; photo editing in Adobe Photoshop and Lightroom; operation and basic maintenance of photo and large-format printers; portfolio required, including a 3D animation demo reel and final renders alongside wireframe or clay renders.

● Security clearance level: TS/SCI

● US citizenship required

● Role requirements: Onsite work at customer facilities to support studio operations; ability to transport and set up camera and lighting equipment; occasional site visits to gather measurements and reference photos; occasional event coverage outside normal business hours.

The likely salary range for this position is $142,792 - $184,000. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
