About the Opportunity
JOB SUMMARY:
Northeastern University's Electrical & Computer Engineering Department seeks a proactive and organized Administrative Access Assistant to support Dr. Kevin Fu, a Professor of Electrical & Computer Engineering who has a dexterity impairment affecting his ability to use a mouse and perform precise pointer-based tasks. This role is crucial for coordinating Professor Fu’s daily activities and ensuring his work environment is accessible. Primary activities include managing correspondence, schedules, and an accessible work environment. Occasional travel may be required.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Qualifications :
- Associate's Degree Required; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- High standards for accuracy and thoroughness in areas of responsibility.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to multitask and problem-solve.
- Basic financial tracking and bookkeeping skills are a plus.
- Ability to work independently and in a team.
- Adaptability to work in a dynamic environment.
- Knowledge of assistive technology or keyboard-based tools to support users with dexterity impairments is preferred.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES & ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Administrative
- Assist with communications and correspondence.
- Manage and coordinate Professor Fu’s calendar.
- Organize digital documents logically and accessibly.
- Maintain an accessible and efficient office environment.
Student Staff Coordination
- Assist in hiring and onboarding student workers.
- Help coordinate and supervise student staff activities.
Finances
- Support handling basic financial tasks like processing bills and managing expense reports.
- Tracking office expenditures.
Project Coordination
- Provide support in organizing and tracking projects.
- Assist Professor Fu in preparing materials and project reports
Dexterity and Computer Interaction Support
- Assist Professor Fu with computer tasks requiring precise mouse use or clicking, such as navigating interfaces, selecting items, and interacting with software.
- Support setup and use of assistive technology and keyboard-based tools to reduce reliance on mouse-dependent workflows

Expected Hiring Range:
$23.37 - $32.14
