Role Context:

Worley is seeking an experienced Senior HSE Specialist to support the safe delivery of the Heidelberg Carbon Capture & Storage EPCm project based in Mold, Flintshire. Reporting to the Project HSE Manager, the role will provide expert Health, Safety and Environmental guidance across the construction phase, ensuring compliance with legislation, client requirements, company policies, and project management systems.

Working as part of both the Project HSE Team and the wider UK HSE function, the successful candidate will foster a strong safety culture, support contractor management activities, and help drive continuous improvement in HSE performance across the project.

You will do:

·        Support implementation of the project HSE Management System and delivery of project HSE objectives.

·        Monitor contractor and vendor HSE performance, intervene where necessary, and escalate emerging trends or concerns.

·        Ensure compliance with applicable legal requirements, company standards, client requirements, and CDM Regulations.

·        Engage with the workforce to proactively identify hazards and support resolution of HSE issues.

·        Execute assurance activities in accordance with the project assurance plan.

·        Support and deliver project HSE campaigns, awareness initiatives, and safety engagement activities.

·        Assist in the implementation and testing of emergency response arrangements.

·        Lead or support incident investigations and drive timely completion of corrective actions.

·        Provide HSE reporting inputs and performance data as required by the Project HSE Manager.

·        Support permit-to-work activities and construction/commissioning work coordination.

·        Promote environmental compliance in line with the Construction Environmental Management Plan.

·        Build strong working relationships with project teams, client representatives, contractors, vendors, and key stakeholders.

·        Facilitate HSE meetings, workshops, audits, inspections, and forums to promote continual improvement.

·        Champion Worley's Incident Free culture and provide visible leadership in HSE matters.

You’ll be able to/have:

·   NEBOSH General Certificate (essential).

·   Membership of IOSH or equivalent professional body.

·   Minimum 5 years' experience in a dedicated HSE role.

·   Experience working within major construction, industrial, energy, infrastructure, or EPC/EPCM project environments.

·   Experience with permit-to-work and control of work systems.

·   Strong understanding of UK HSE legislation, CDM Regulations, and industry best practice.

·   Demonstrated ability to influence contractor and site personnel to improve HSE performance.

·   Strong incident investigation, audit, inspection, and assurance experience.

·   Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and relationship-building skills.

·   Strong planning, organisational, problem-solving, and analytical capabilities.

·   Proficiency with Microsoft Office and HSE reporting/tracking systems.

·   NEBOSH Diploma, Chartered IOSH status, incident investigation qualifications (ICAM/RCA), auditor qualifications, and EPC lifecycle experience would be advantageous.

·   Ability to work effectively in a site-based environment and support project delivery through extended working hours when required.
