Job Description

Your Team

The candidate will join the FICC (Fixed Income, Currency, and Commodity) Trading team, which is responsible for executing a broad range of over-the-counter and exchange-listed financial instruments on behalf of Invesco’s global investment teams. This role offers a unique opportunity to work alongside experienced traders while gaining exposure to global derivatives markets across rates, foreign exchange, and equity products. The successful candidate will develop a strong foundation in market structure, execution, and risk management within a leading global asset manager.

Your Role

This junior trading role will focus on the best execution of trades across multiple product areas, including Global Rates, FX Derivatives, and Equity Derivatives. Initially, the candidate will develop an understanding of Global Interest Rate Derivatives, including market conventions, trading mechanics, and associated terminology. In parallel, the candidate will gain exposure to FX and Equity Options, including option pricing concepts, Greeks, and risk management considerations. Over time, the successful candidate will have the opportunity to expand their product knowledge and trading responsibilities across the broader FICC platform. Success in this role will be demonstrated through the ability to execute trades efficiently, develop strong market knowledge, build productive relationships with counterparties, and contribute to enhancements in trading processes, analytics, and reporting.

You Will Be Responsible For:

- Executing trades across multiple product areas, including Global Rates Derivatives, FX Derivatives, and Equity Derivatives, while supporting best execution objectives.
- Partnering with Operations, Risk, Compliance, and Legal teams to facilitate efficient trade execution and settlement processes, while ensuring adherence to internal policies and applicable regulations.
- Developing relationships with counterparties to support liquidity access, market intelligence, and idea generation. This may include participating in meetings with counterparties and industry representatives, including occasional events outside normal business hours.
- Assisting portfolio managers in monitoring portfolio positions, evaluating trade opportunities, and supporting investment decision-making.
- Maintaining awareness of developments in market structure, liquidity, regulation, and trading technology.
- Assisting in automating and preparing performance-related reports, utilizing market and execution data to deliver meaningful transaction cost analysis and trading insights.
- Supporting continuous improvement initiatives across trading workflows, data analysis, and execution processes.

The Experience You Bring:

- Bachelor's degree required; a concentration in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field is preferred.
- Prior trading experience and/or familiarity with investment management platforms such as Aladdin or Charles River is advantageous, but not required.
- Demonstrated interest in financial markets, macroeconomics, and trading.
- Strong quantitative and analytical aptitude, with the ability to interpret market and execution data.
- Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities during periods of heightened trading activity.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams and external counterparties.
- Proficiency in Excel; experience with Python, VBA, SQL, or other programming languages is a plus.
- A proactive mindset, intellectual curiosity, and a willingness to learn in a fast-paced trading environment.

The salary range for this position in New York, NY is 100,000 - 110,000 base USD /year. The total compensation offered for this position includes salary and incentive pay and will vary based on skills, experience and location
