Position Overview:

The Transportation Analytics Lead is responsible for developing, maintaining, and enhancing transportation analytics, business intelligence, and decision-support capabilities that enable data-driven operational and strategic decisions. This role transforms transportation data into meaningful insights through dashboards, reporting, KPI analysis, scenario modeling, and analytical solutions that improve transportation performance.

Working under the direction of the Transportation Intelligence & Optimization Mgr., this position supports enterprise transportation analytics by developing reports, validating data quality, identifying performance trends, and delivering actionable insights that improve service, reduce costs, increase operational efficiency, and support continuous improvement initiatives.

The Analyst partners closely with Transportation Operations, Product Management, Process Excellence, Finance, Procurement, and Enterprise Data & Analytics to ensure transportation information is accurate, trusted, and readily available to support business decision making.

Primary Responsibilities:

- Develop and enhance transportation business intelligence solutions, including dashboards, scorecards, KPI reporting, and operational reports that provide accurate, timely, and actionable insights.
- Analyze transportation performance, cost, and service data to identify trends, risks, root causes, and opportunities to improve efficiency, network performance, and business results.
- Support transportation optimization and continuous improvement initiatives across carrier performance, routing, mode selection, shipment consolidation, freight and capacity utilization, lane performance, asset utilization, and network efficiency.
- Maintain and validate enterprise transportation KPIs and analytical standards, ensuring consistent calculations, business definitions, reporting accuracy, and data integrity across analytical solutions.
- Conduct scenario and quantitative analysis to evaluate transportation network changes, carrier performance, fuel costs, demand fluctuations, operational changes, and other business scenarios, quantifying potential operational and financial impacts.
- Prepare and analyze datasets that support optimization models and improvement initiatives , assisting with model development and validation and measuring the business impact of implemented solutions.
- Partner cross-functionally with Transportation Operations, Procurement, Logistics Finance, Product Management, Continuous Improvement, and Enterprise Data & Analytics to translate business needs into meaningful analyses and data-driven recommendations.
- Communicate analytical findings and recommendations to business stakeholders through effective visualizations, reporting, and presentations while supporting adoption and continuous improvement of transportation analytics tools.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Required

- Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain, Business Analytics, Data Analytics, Engineering, Information Systems, or related field.
- 3+ years of experience in transportation analytics, supply chain analytics, business intelligence, or related analytical roles.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
- Experience developing dashboards, reports, and KPI scorecards.
- Experience translating business requirements into analytical solutions.
- Working knowledge of transportation operations and performance metrics.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to present analytical findings to business partners.
- Must be a Citizen or National of the United States, a lawful, permanent resident, or have authorization to work in the United States.

LOCATION: Remote home office with access to a major airport.

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS: Travel may be necessary 20% of the time.

At Hormel Foods, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. The base hiring pay range for the role is between $89,000 - $124,700 per year, and your actual base pay within that range will depend upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, job-related knowledge, skill set, level of experience, and geographic market location.
