Centralized Transportation Dispatch (Friday - Monday) - Remote

This position reports to the Supervisor of Dispatch.

Typical hours for this role are as follows:

Friday 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.

Saturday 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.

Sunday 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.

Monday 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Dispatch and tendering of customer deliver loads.
- Responsible for the dispatch and tendering of all co-pack and inbound purchasing loads.
- Work closely with logistics, scheduling and our plant locations to secure equipment and ensure product is moved in a timely and cost-effective manner.
- Daily communication with current carrier base to work ahead and secure equipment.
- Work with customer service, commodities, value-added whole birds, and scheduling to secure equipment when needed.
- Reach out to carrier base (approximately 80 carriers) for overflow orders and provide synergies with interplant dispatch and reduce deadhead costs.
- Work with Scheduling Coordinator to ensure customer and interplant loads are scheduled reasonably to be compatible with warehouse abilities and to reduce detention costs.
- Track and trace of current loads to help ensure on time delivery.
- Will be cross trained in all functions of the Dispatch group.
- Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

- Must be detail oriented.
- Able to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
- Strong analytical, written, and verbal communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal and customer service skills.
- Willing to accept continual repetitive changes in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Able to work afterhours and Weekends.
- Must be a Citizen or National of the United States, a lawful, permanent resident, or have authorization to work in the United States.

- Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline or equivalent transportation experience.

The base hiring pay range for this role is $17.25- $28.50 per hour, and your actual pay within that range will depend upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, job-related knowledge, skill set, level of experience, and geographic market location.
