As Regulatory Affairs and Sustainability Specialist , you will support global chemical regulatory compliance, product stewardship, and sustainability reporting activities across Baker Hughes' production chemicals portfolio. You will work with regulatory specialists, product line teams, sustainability leaders, and external stakeholders to ensure compliance with applicable regulations while supporting the company's sustainability objectives and customer commitments.

As Regulatory Affairs and Sustainability Specialist, you will be responsible for:

- Supporting the preparation, submission and maintenance of Tripartite Agreements for the maritime transport of production chemicals in compliance with MARPOL Annex II, the IBC Code and applicable IMO requirements.
- Supporting global regulatory compliance activities for production chemicals which could include chemical registrations, notifications, product stewardship activities and regulatory documentation.
- Support regulatory programs including biocides, SDS authoring, hazard communication and other global chemical management requirements.
- Managing regulatory and sustainability projects, including planning, milestone tracking, stakeholder engagement and progress reporting.
- Collecting, validating and analyzing sustainability and ESG-related data to support corporate reporting, customer requests, disclosures and sustainability initiatives.
- Supporting sustainability reporting initiatives aligned with corporate sustainability objectives and external reporting frameworks.
- Prepare responses for customer sustainability questionnaires, RFPs, supplier assessments and industry surveys.
- Developing and maintain dashboards, metrics and reporting tools that improve visibility of regulatory and sustainability performance.
- Monitoring emerging regulatory and sustainability requirements and communicate potential impacts to key stakeholders.
- Collaborating with global teams including Regulatory Affairs, HSE, Product Management, Supply Chain, Commercial and Sustainability functions.
- Providing regulatory and sustainability guidance to internal stakeholders while supporting continuous improvement initiatives.
- Interfacing with external regulatory authorities, industry associations, customers and third-party consultants as required.

To be successful in this role you will:

- Hold a BSc in Chemistry, Environmental Science, Toxicology, Sustainability, Chemical Engineering, Environmental Health & Safety or a related scientific discipline.
- Have experience within the chemical, energy, manufacturing or related industrial sector.
- Have experience supporting global chemical regulatory compliance, product stewardship or environmental regulations.
- Demonstrate strong project management and organizational skills.
- Have experience coordinating multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
- Possess strong analytical, problem-solving and data-management capabilities.
- Be detail-oriented with a commitment to high-quality and accurate deliverables.
- Communicate effectively with stakeholders across different functions and regions.
- Demonstrate proficiency with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word and business reporting tools.
- Have experience developing presentations, reports and performance metrics.

Preferred Qualifications

- Familiarity with Tripartite Agreements and the regulatory framework governing the bulk maritime transport of chemicals, including MARPOL Annex II and the IBC Code.
- Experience using regulatory compliance databases and SDS authoring systems.
- Experience with REACH regulations and registrations.
- Experience supporting sustainability frameworks, ESG disclosures or customer sustainability reporting.
- Experience in data analytics, visualization or reporting platforms.
- Additional language capabilities such as Portuguese or French would be advantageous
