“I can succeed as a Senior Taxonomy & Metadata Specialist at Capital Group.”
The Senior Taxonomy & Metadata Specialist leads the strategic and operational management of content classification, metadata governance, and digital asset organization across the Marketing & Digital ecosystem. This role combines deep taxonomy and metadata expertise with hands-on leadership of content operations to ensure assets are structured, discoverable, and aligned with business and regulatory requirements.
You will lead the development and implementation of metadata frameworks, taxonomy models, and content workflows that strengthen governance, improve operational efficiency, and support more personalized customer experiences.
· Lead the design, implementation, and governance of enterprise taxonomies and metadata schemas across marketing and digital platforms.
· Develop and enforce policies and standards for metadata consistency, content tagging, and taxonomy use across teams and systems.
· Serve as the domain expert, advising stakeholders on best practices and emerging trends.
· Oversee and optimize taxonomy implementations in Adobe Workfront, Adobe DAM, AI applications, and other critical tagging systems, including Claravine, Seismic, and Toppan Merrill.
· Develop operational reporting, quality assurance processes, and workflow automation to keep content governed, consistent, and accessible.
· Partner with Marketing, Digital, Compliance, Data, and IT to align taxonomy and metadata strategies with business goals and regulatory requirements.
· Create training and documentation that support taxonomy adoption and build metadata literacy across the organization.
· Maintain continuous stakeholder communication to support content production, governance, and optimization.
· Perform additional responsibilities as assigned.

· You have 7+ years of relevant experience in taxonomy and metadata management, including at least 2 years in a leadership or managerial role.
· You have demonstrated experience in financial services or another highly regulated environment.
· You have expertise in Adobe Experience Cloud products, especially Adobe Workfront and Adobe DAM.
· You bring a strong understanding of content lifecycle management, digital asset workflows, and compliance requirements such as FINRA & SEC.
· You can design enterprise taxonomies and metadata schemas and translate business requirements into scalable standards and workflows.
· You have strong communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills and can influence teams without direct authority.
· You can explain taxonomy and metadata concepts in clear business language and drive adoption through practical training, documentation, and partnership.
· A Bachelor’s or Master's Degree in Information Science, Library Science or Digital Asset Management is strongly preferred. Comparable experience will be considered.
· Familiarity with semantic technologies, knowledge graphs, or ontology development is preferred.
· Experience with taxonomy management tools is preferred.
· Knowledge of SEO, content strategy, and customer journey mapping is preferred.

Southern California Base Salary Range: $141,648-$226,637
In addition to a highly competitive base salary, per plan guidelines, restrictions and vesting requirements, you also will be eligible for an individual annual performance bonus, plus Capital’s annual profitability bonus plus a retirement plan where Capital contributes 15% of your eligible earnings.
