SUMMARY
Responsible for routine and complex inspections utilizing standard and CMM methods.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned .
- Performs incoming inspections on critical commodities utilizing CMM technology
- Develop CMM programs utilizing (PC-DMIS) to improve efficiency
- Coordinates CMM inspection schedule to maximize machine usage
- Mechanically inspect all commodities utilizing general inspection tools (i.e. micrometer, height gages, calipers, micrometers and optical comparator)
- Performs First Article, in-process, receiving and final inspection in support of production activities
- Assists in the resolution of tolerance and variance issues
- Generates non-conformance reports when required
- Interface with other departments to ensure we resolve quality problems in a timely manner
- Support Quality Assurance activities such as internal and external audits
- Willingness and commitment to teach and to help improve skill sets in others
- Document inspection results in accordance with our Business Management System
- Follow company processes and procedures to comply with ISO and AS9100 standards
- Performs other related duties as assigned in support of our Business Management System
QUALIFICATIONS

REQUIRED
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED), and five years of related experience and/or training in regards to operating, programming and maintaining a CMM; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience with micrometers, calipers, height gages, depth gages, etc
PREFERRED
- Experience in aerospace or other regulated manufacturing environment
- Corrective action and root cause experience, preferred
SKILLS AND COMPENTENCIES
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations in English.
- Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals in English.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in reviewing technical documentation and data.
- Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

- Regular exposure to moving mechanical and electromechanical equipment
- Occasional work in elevated or restricted access areas, including platforms and ladders
- Occasional exposure to fumes, airborne particles, and industrial chemicals used in manufacturing processes

- Occasional exposure to vibration from manufacturing or test equipment
- Occasional exposure to varying environmental conditions when supporting production or testing activities
- Noise levels are typically moderate and consistent with a manufacturing environment
