We are looking for a Manager, Account Management to join our NORAM Account Management team in New York. This is an opportunity to lead strategic relationships with some of the region’s most important merchants and help them get more value from their partnership with Checkout.com .
You will be a trusted business advisor and a senior point of contact for a portfolio of enterprise merchants. You will own the account strategy, build executive-level relationships, identify opportunities for growth, and coordinate the internal teams required to deliver an outstanding merchant experience.
This role is suited to a commercially minded account management leader who can operate with strategic perspective while staying close to execution. You will bring structure to complex work, influence stakeholders across the organization, and help merchants use payments as a lever for better customer experiences and business performance.
How you’ll make an impact
- Own and execute account development plans for a portfolio of strategic NORAM merchants.
- Build high-touch, consultative relationships with merchant stakeholders from day-to-day operators through executive leadership.
- Serve as the primary commercial and relationship lead during the post-integration lifecycle, ensuring clear ownership, communication, and follow-through.
- Develop a deep understanding of each merchant’s business model, customer journeys, payment performance, priorities, and growth plans.
- Identify and advance opportunities across payment volumes, product adoption, geographic expansion, and broader commercial growth.
- Lead commercial conversations and negotiations in partnership with Sales, Finance, Legal, Product, and other relevant teams.
- Translate merchant needs into clear internal priorities and influence product roadmaps, go-to-market motions, and service improvements.
- Project-manage complex merchant initiatives, including cross-border expansion, new payment methods, optimization programs, and operational improvements.
- Use data and customer insights to diagnose performance, quantify opportunities, and make compelling recommendations.
- Provide regular account updates, risk visibility, and forward-looking plans to NORAM and global leadership.
- Share market feedback and best practices that improve how Checkout.com serves enterprise merchants across the region.
What we’re looking for
- 6+ years of experience in B2B Account Management, Relationship Management, Customer Success, Strategic Partnerships, or a related commercial role, ideally in payments, fintech, technology, banking, or consulting.
- Experience managing complex enterprise accounts and building trusted relationships with senior and executive stakeholders.
- Strong commercial judgment, including experience identifying growth opportunities and leading or supporting negotiations.
- A strategic, analytical, and data-driven approach to account planning and decision-making.
- Excellent project management skills, with the ability to coordinate multiple workstreams and maintain momentum in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong understanding of digital commerce, payments, fintech, and the competitive dynamics shaping the NORAM market.
- Clear and compelling communication skills, with the ability to influence internally and externally at all levels.
- Customer-first judgment and the ability to balance merchant outcomes, commercial performance, and operational realities.
- High ownership, organization, and follow-through, especially when priorities shift or information is incomplete.
- Intellectual curiosity and the ability to learn complex products and apply new technologies, including AI, to improve account performance.
