About Homefix: Homefix is a residential exteriors contractor. We install windows, doors, siding, roofing and gutters in Maryland, Virginia, DC and North Carolina, and have since 1990. We're BBB A+ accredited and a GAF Master Elite contractor with 35+ years in business.
The role: You'll be Homefix's field technician in the Richmond market. You'll measure new jobs, handle service calls yourself, and be our eyes on the job for installs in the area. This is a hands-on role for someone who is accurate with a tape, can fix the problem in front of them, and can make sure a crew's work is done right.
What you'll do:
- Measure new jobs accurately for ordering. That means windows, doors, siding, roofing and gutters, with clear notes and photos so the order is right the first time.
- Run small service jobs yourself, such as replacing a single window, adjusting or re-hanging a door, re-sealing and caulking, fixing trim, and repairing gutters.
- Oversee install projects in the Richmond area. Check work in progress and at completion, and flag problems before the crew leaves.
- Inspect and diagnose customer issues on site, take clear photos, and document what you found and what you did.
- Work with our service coordinator and schedulers to keep your calendar full and customers informed.
- Represent Homefix professionally in customers' homes.
Qualifications
What we're looking for:
- 3+ years of hands-on residential exteriors or construction experience. Window and door experience is a must.
- Experience measuring for window, door or exterior orders.
- Experience overseeing crews or projects, not just doing your own work.
- Comfortable on ladders. Being able to safely get on a roof is a strong plus.
- A valid driver's license and a clean driving record. We provide the truck.
- Comfortable using a phone or tablet for job notes and photos.
