About this role

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

- Build and maintain the production schedule for six processing machines, including coil cutting and finishing work such as cut to length, shear, saw, polishing, and PVC application.

- Enter internal processing orders in the company system using specifications provided by Inventory Planning and other authorized teams; check entries for completeness and accuracy.

- Review customer orders, stock replenishment, and transfer orders to Tampa. Distinguish customer committed work from stock work and sequence jobs according to business priorities and due dates.

- Coordinate daily with the Production Manager and shop team to understand machine availability, staffing, shift coverage, processing constraints, and expected throughput.

- Plan workable job sequences based on material type, gauge, dimensions, machine capabilities, changeovers, and other production considerations.

- Reassess the schedule as new orders, urgent needs, capacity changes, or delays arise. Communicate changes and expected completion timing to Inside Sales, Outside Sales, Inventory Planning, and Production.

- Track scheduled work through completion, identify potential bottlenecks or missed commitments, and escalate conflicts or capacity concerns to the General Manager and Production Manager.

- Maintain accurate scheduling records and support improvements to order flow and equipment utilization.

- Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

- Experience in production scheduling, order coordination, manufacturing administration, or a related role preferred. Experience in a metals service center is a plus.

- Ability to analyze competing priorities, production capacity, and order requirements and revise plans promptly when conditions change.

- Strong attention to detail, organization, and follow through in a high volume environment.

- Clear communication skills and ability to work closely with sales, inventory, and shop personnel.

- Comfort using order entry or ERP systems and standard office software; ability to learn equipment and material specific scheduling rules.
