Job Description:
TITLE: Stress Senior Engineer (In- Service Repair)
EMPLOYER: Airbus Americas, Inc.
LOCATION: Wichita, KS
DUTIES: Support the airline in-service fleet on repairs of aircraft structure. Create high quality integrated and certified engineering repair solutions for the airlines and internal customers. Ensure that the final repair solution brings the aircraft back into an airworthy condition. Perform complex stress/strength analyses to assess the structural integrity requirements have been met using standard hand and computer methods. Collaborate with Design, Fatigue and other appropriate Airbus departments to develop optimum design solutions for the airline customer. Manage workflow for self and teammates. Guide the successful completion of projects and execute activities to achieve customer requirements.
REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Civil Engineering, or related field and 3 years in any job title involving experience in structural design, analysis, and mechanics of materials in the aerospace industry. Prior experience must include: Applying technical principles, theories, and concepts to solve technical problems; Creating and delivering technical documents and presentations; Performing Static analysis of airframe structures using classical hand analysis methods, Finite Element Analysis (FEA) and industry standard methods including Bruhn and Niu; Designing and justifying complex repair solutions for aircraft structures; Interpreting maintenance documentation techniques and procedures including SRM, NTM, AMM, CMM, or IPC; Applying programming languages including Excel-VBA, Python, or JavaScript for automating analysis methods and processes; Using Design and Stress tools including CATIA for structural analysis of repairs and modifications of aircraft parts. Up to 20% telework permitted.
