JOB TITLE: SITE ACCOUNT MANAGER – KATHU, NORTHERN CAPE

We are looking for an Account Manager to join our Sales team in the Market Area Africa organization. In this role, you will be responsible for developing strategic customer relationships, identifying growth opportunities and expanding Metso’s product and service offering across a portfolio of mining customers. Your success will be measured through customer satisfaction, business growth, order intake, net sales and gross profit contribution across the assigned territory.

You will report to the Senior Sales Manager , and the role location is Kathu, Northern Cape ,

Travel is required, primarily within the Northern Cape and Western Cape regions.

Team you will belong to

You will join the Sales team focused on developing business opportunities and strengthening customer partnerships across the mining industry. The team is responsible for promoting Metso’s full portfolio of solutions and creating long-term value for customers through technical expertise, commercial insight and strong account management practices.

The team collaborates closely with Product Specialists, management, customers and suppliers. Team members are based across the Northern Cape and Gauteng and work together to identify opportunities, support customers and drive business growth.

What you'll do

- Develop and maintain strong customer relationships while promoting Metso’s complete offering of products and services.

- Assess customer needs, identify market potential and create account plans to secure new business opportunities within assigned accounts.

- Manage sales activities, customer opportunities and account plans through Salesforce and other sales management tools.

- Drive customer satisfaction by ensuring effective communication, responsive service and coordination of after-sales and technical support.

- Identify and develop opportunities across Services, Consumables, Pumps and Capital Equipment offerings, with a focus on long-term customer partnerships.

- Prepare technical and commercial proposals that address customer requirements and deliver value.

- Collaborate closely with Product Support teams and Product Specialists to develop customer engagement strategies and new sales opportunities.

- Monitor sales performance, forecasts, budgets and business opportunities to achieve sales targets and support regional growth.

What you'll bring

- National Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Metallurgical Engineering or a related technical discipline, supported by Matric (Grade 12).

- Demonstrated experience in account management and sales within the mining industry, supported by strong commercial awareness.

- Knowledge of mining applications including milling, crushing and screening, grinding, pumps, flotation and service-related solutions.

- Ability to build trusted customer relationships, identify business opportunities and influence stakeholders through effective communication, presentation and negotiation skills.

- Strong technical understanding, including the ability to interpret technical drawings and discuss equipment solutions with customers.

- Experience managing sales pipelines, forecasts, quotations and customer opportunities using CRM tools such as Salesforce.

- Good market knowledge, computer literacy and the ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities.

- Commitment to customer satisfaction, teamwork and delivering results in a dynamic sales environment.

- Willingness and ability to travel extensively within the assigned territory.
