We're looking for an experienced National Investigator to join our Profit Protection team. In this highly autonomous role, you'll lead complex investigations relating to theft, fraud, misconduct, critical incidents and emerging risks across the Kmart Group.
Y ou'll play a key role in protecting our people, assets, reputation and profits, while partnering with stakeholders across the business to drive meaningful risk reduction strategies.

What you’ll be doing
- Conducting internal and external investigations into theft, fraud, misconduct and other high-risk incidents.
- Preparing high-quality investigation briefs, statements and supporting documentation for police and prosecution purposes.
- Conducting compliant and lawful records of interview with team members and other stakeholders.
- Analysing incident data and trends to identify root causes and provide recommendations to reduce future risk and loss.
- Supporting whistleblower investigations and managing sensitive matters with professionalism and discretion.
- Responding to critical incidents and partnering with emergency services, police and key stakeholders when required.
- Conducting security risk assessments and recommending practical controls to strengthen site security.
- Partnering with Profit Protection, Risk & Compliance, People & Capability, Fraud Analysts and senior leaders to identify emerging risks and drive positive business outcomes.
To be successful in this role you’ll have:
- Proven investigation experience within a retail, loss prevention, law enforcement or related environment.
- Strong knowledge of criminal investigation methodologies, evidence gathering and case management.
- Experience conducting workplace investigations and investigative interviews.
- The ability to prepare comprehensive briefs and documentation to support police engagement and prosecution outcomes.
- Experience working with CCTV, alarm systems, crime intelligence platforms, fraud tools and investigative technologies.
- Strong analytical thinking, sound judgement and the ability to manage complex and sensitive matters.
- Exceptional stakeholder engagement and communication skills, with the ability to influence at all levels.
- A Certificate IV in Government Investigations, Security Licence or similar qualification will be highly regarded.
