Job Title: Motor Vehicle Operator / Transporter - Level 2 Job Description
The Motor Vehicle Operator / Transporter - Level 2 provides reliable, in-person transportation and mailroom support by picking up, processing, and delivering mail, packages, and materials between designated locations. This role ensures timely, safe, and accurate movement of items while maintaining excellent customer service and detailed delivery records during standard weekday business hours.
Responsibilities
- Receive and check in incoming mail and packages at the hub or designated intake points.
- Sort mail and packages and route them to the appropriate departments, locations, or individuals.
- Drive to designated sites to deliver packages, mail, and other materials according to established routes and schedules.
- Pick up outbound packages and mail from various locations and return them to the hub for processing and shipment.
- Maintain accurate delivery and pickup records, including logs, signatures, and tracking information as required.
- Ensure timely and safe transportation of mail, packages, and materials while adhering to traffic laws and internal safety procedures.
- Provide professional, courteous customer service to internal and external stakeholders during pickups and deliveries.
- Manage time effectively to complete assigned routes and tasks within scheduled working hours.
- Handle packages and mail carefully to prevent damage, loss, or misrouting.
- Follow all company policies and safety guidelines related to vehicle operation, package handling, and mailroom operations.
Essential Skills
- 4+ years of experience in roles related to transportation, delivery, shipping, logistics, mailroom operations, or package handling.
- Proven experience operating motor vehicles for delivery routes and transportation activities.
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to interact professionally with staff and clients during pickups and deliveries.
- Effective time management skills to plan and complete multiple deliveries and pickups within set deadlines.
- Ability to accurately maintain records and documentation related to mail and package deliveries and pickups.
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Ability to safely lift, carry, and handle packages and mail as part of daily responsibilities.
- Reliable driving skills and adherence to safety standards and traffic regulations.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Previous experience in shipping, logistics, mailroom operations, or package handling is highly desirable.
- Experience working with delivery routes, including planning and following scheduled transportation activities.
- Familiarity with basic recordkeeping practices for mail and package tracking.
- Strong attention to detail when sorting, routing, and documenting mail and packages.
- Comfort working in a structured environment with established processes and procedures.
- Ability to adapt to changing delivery priorities and route adjustments as needed.
Work Environment
This is an in-person position based at a facility in Los Angeles, operating during standard business hours from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. The role is primarily on-site and involves frequent movement between locations, including driving company-approved routes and working in mailroom or hub environments. The work includes handling mail and packages of varying sizes, working around typical office and soft services operations, and following safety protocols specific to transportation and package handling. The environment is structured, with defined processes for receiving, sorting, and delivering materials, and emphasizes professionalism, reliability, and adherence to safety and operational guidelines.

This is a Contract position based out of Los Angeles, CA.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $10.00 - $10.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
