JOB SUMMARY
To provide investment research, financial analysis, and investment recommendations in support of First Abu Dhabi Global Private Bank and its clients. The role is responsible for conducting fundamental, macroeconomic, and market analysis across equity and fixed income markets, identifying investment opportunities and risks, supporting portfolio construction and investment recommendations, and contributing to investment committee discussions. The Executive Director will produce investment research and market insights to support informed investment decision-making, while maintaining a high standard of analytical rigor and investment governance.
The role operates within First Abu Dhabi Bank – Global Private Bank - Product and Services and supports delivery to Global Private Banking clients. The position plays a key role in maintaining the investment governance framework and contributes to the production of various investment research.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Investment Research & Analysis
- Conduct macroeconomic, market, sector, and company-specific research across equity and fixed income markets.
- Produce country reports and analysis on markets as requested.
- Analyse financial statements, earnings reports, valuation metrics, and industry trends and developments.
- Develop investment views and recommendations to support various investment strategies.
- Identify and communicate emerging investment risks and opportunities across covered markets and sectors.
- Monitor market developments, economic trends, and geopolitical events impacting investment opportunities.
Investment Committee Support
- Prepare investment research and supporting materials for various committees including investment committee meetings.
- Present investment views, market updates, and investment recommendations to relevant forums.
- Support the ongoing review of investment strategies.
Research Management
- Produce research reports, investment notes, market commentaries, and investment presentations.
- Maintain research documentation and supporting records in accordance with internal governance requirements.
Regulatory & Governance Responsibilities
- Maintain the required CMA/SCA accreditation applicable to the role.
- Ensure research activities are conducted in accordance with internal policies, regulatory requirements, and applicable governance standards.
- Support regulatory inspections, audits, and information requests where required.
Framework, Boundaries & Decision-Making Authority
- Operates within the framework of FAB policies, investment governance standards, and applicable regulatory requirements.
- Provides investment recommendations and research views to support investment decisionmaking.
- Escalates material investment risks, conflicts, and governance matters through the appropriate channels.
- Supports regulatory compliance and audit readiness activities relating to the licensed business.
REQUIREMENTS / QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent university qualification in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related discipline; and a minimum of three (3) years of experience in financial analysis or in the relevant fields.
- Diploma qualification or equivalent; and a minimum of eight (8) years of experience in financial analysis or in the relevant fields.
Alternative Qualifications and Experience
Experience of at least three (3) years in financial analysis or related investment fields along with one of the following professional designations:
- Accredited Financial Analyst
- Certified Investment Professional (CIP)
- Certificate in Quantitative Finance (CQF)
- Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA)
Regulatory Requirements
The successful candidate must satisfy the qualification, experience, accreditation, and ongoing competency requirements prescribed by the Capital Market Authority (CMA/SCA) for the function and maintain all required regulatory approvals throughout employment.
