Just imagine your insights shaping product decisions in the LEGO® Builder app, strengthen its data foundations, and improving how success is measured.

About the role

As our Senior Data Scientist, you'll analyze and validate behavioural data in the LEGO® Builder app, translate analytical findings into actionable recommendations, and support the development of data models and algorithms. This is a 10-month contract role. You'll take open questions from stakeholders and product management and turn them into ideas and proposed actions that influence the future direction of the app. It's an opportunity to use data to drive decisions that improve the experience for millions of builders.

Please note: Relocation support is not available for this role.

Required Qualifications

- Applied statistical analysis to solve product or business challenges
- Developed solutions using Python and SQL in a professional environment
- Built or improved data pipelines or data models that enabled analytical outcomes
- Translated stakeholder questions into analytical approaches and recommendations
- Communicated findings through clear data storytelling that informed decisions
- Worked within agile, multifunctional teams to deliver measurable results

Preferred Qualifications

- Used Databricks or a comparable data platform in a data science environment
- Developed applications that supported product or business objectives
- Applied modern development practices such as version control, CI/CD and testing

What you'll build

- Lead analysis of behavioural data and turn findings into actionable recommendations
- Support the development of data models and algorithms
- Help shape the direction of the LEGO Builder app through evidence-based decisions
- Improve how product success is measured
- Strengthen the reliability and quality of data foundations

If you've worked in a role where you've used data science to influence product direction and improve customer experiences, you'll feel at home here. What matters most is your ability to turn complex questions into practical insights and recommendations that create value.

Life on the team

You'll join PMD Data within the Data Office, where Data Scientists, AI Engineers and MLOps Engineers work on data science and AI solutions across Innovation Enablement and Consumer areas. You'll primarily be embedded in a cross-functional product team focused on the LEGO Builder app, while remaining connected to a wider competency community. We spend time together learning, sharing ideas, and helping each other solve challenges. You'll thrive if you enjoy working closely with stakeholders, communicating clearly, and collaborating with others to solve meaningful problems.

What success looks like

Success means becoming a trusted partner who can take open-ended product questions and turn them into insights that shape decisions. Over the coming months, you'll work closely with the Product Manager and the wider product team to improve how data informs the evolution of the LEGO Builder app. By the end of your assignment, you'll have helped sharpen how success is measured, increased confidence in key data sources, and contributed to product improvements grounded in dependable evidence.

Applications are reviewed on an ongoing basis. However, please note we do amend or withdraw our jobs and reserve the right to do so at any time, including prior to any advertised closing date. So, if you're interested in this role we encourage you to apply as soon as possible.
