About the location:
A secluded oasis at the edge of an idyllic lagoon! On the east coast of Mauritius, lapped by turquoise waters perfect for water sports, our relaxing Resort is filled with lush greenery and dramatic views everywhere you turn. Each stylish villa and residence feature its own private garden and pool – just like the home for the Resort’s resident giant tortoises. After a day exploring the Indian Ocean or playing unlimited golf at both our Ernie Els-designed course and Bernhard Langer signature course, unwind at our award-winning Spa and raise a glass at one of our exciting dining venues. This beautiful resort opened in October 2008, and has 90 one-bedroom villas, 1 Presidential Suite, 45 two-to-five-bedroom residential villas, 5 stunning Food and Beverage venues in addition to managing an off-property beach bar/restaurant, an award-winning over water Spa, 2 tennis courts and a fitness center.

Job Responsibilities

General

- Executes all tasks assigned by his/her superiors.
- Demonstrates a high degree of standards awareness; promotes teamwork and acts as a role model.
- Attends all scheduled training sessions.
- Displays warmth, care, and genuine enthusiasm when dealing with guests and internal customers; lives the Golden Rule.
- Adheres to the hotel's code of conduct and grooming & hygiene standards.
- Is seen as working hands-on, assists colleagues during busy periods; walks the talk.
- Actively participates in briefings and meetings.
- Maintains a clean and orderly work area and promotes a safe working environment.
- Performs any other cognate duties as and when required.

Departmental

- Greets and welcomes guests in a friendly, professional, and courteous manner.
- Manages reservations, guest arrivals, waiting lists, and table allocations efficiently.
- Escorts guests to their tables and presents menus where applicable.
- Acts as host/hostess within the outlet and creates a positive first and lasting impression.
- Coordinates with managers and service staff to ensure smooth guest flow and optimal table utilization.
- Provides genuine hospitality and recognition while promoting hotel services and products.
- Possesses a good knowledge of restaurant menus, promotions, outlet operations, and hotel events.
- Anticipates guest needs, offers assistance, and ensures guest satisfaction throughout the dining experience.
- Handles guest inquiries, requests, and concerns professionally and promptly.
- Takes ownership of guest feedback and follows up to ensure concerns are resolved satisfactorily.
- Maintains guest preference records and assists in compiling guest history.
- Ensures the reception, entrance, and waiting areas are clean, organized, and welcoming at all times.
- Assists in maintaining reservation systems and accurate guest records.
- Supports other Food & Beverage outlets when required and responds positively to operational needs.

Special Requirements

- Has 1-2 years of relevant experience in 5-star hotels/resorts or reputable stand-alone restaurants.
- Possesses excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- Demonstrates strong English language proficiency; additional languages are an advantage.
- Has a professional appearance and positive attitude.
- Possesses aptitude and upward mobility.
- Technical education in Hospitality Management is preferred.
- Knowledge of restaurant reservation systems is preferred.
- Demonstrates strong guest relations and problem-solving abilities.
