PURPOSE OF THE JOB
The VP, Brand is the single accountable leader for Owens Corning’s enterprise brand and the steward of the Brand Center of Excellence. This leader will own enterprise brand vision, strategy, architecture, standards, and governance while enabling the businesses to execute credible, market-specific brand activity within clear enterprise guardrails.
The role is critical to building the enterprise brand capabilities and foundational organization that will strengthen our enterprise brand and sustain momentum beyond launch. The VP, Brand will align senior leaders behind the brand agenda, translate research and market insight into brand and experience decisions, and connect brand investment to measurable growth, ROI, and long-term enterprise value.
Span of Control: Enterprise Brand Center of Excellence; immediate leadership of Brand Relationships, Brand Governance & Operations, and Brand Metrics & Research capabilities
Location: Toledo, Ohio World Headquarters
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Enterprise Brand Strategy & Vision
- Set the enterprise brand strategy, architecture, positioning, and promise aligned to business goals and enterprise priorities.
- Serve as the senior leader accountable for protecting, growing, and sustaining the iconic brand across the enterprise.
- Create alignment across the Executive Committee, business leaders, and functional partners on the enterprise brand agenda.
- Lead the phased build-out of enterprise brand capabilities from foundational launch through longer-term organizational alignment.
Brand Governance, Standards & Architecture
- Own and govern enterprise brand guidelines, standards, architecture, and consistency across markets, business units, agencies, and partner channels.
- Establish and run brand approval, exception, and compliance processes including response-time commitments, quarterly review routines, and clear decision rights.
- Ensure brand standards are embedded into agency, vendor, co-branding, sponsorship, and partner contracts.
- Lead the transition from launch-phase governance to a sustainable brand management model embedded in business planning, marketing execution, agency management, and customer-facing activation.
- Own the multi-year brand activation roadmap from enterprise launch through sustained adoption, including training, digital assets, customer readiness, events, product and packaging transition, signage, and ongoing business-as-usual activation.
Creative, Experience & Enterprise Storytelling Direction
- Provide creative and experience direction to ensure campaigns, product narratives, customer moments, and enterprise storytelling ladder up to one cohesive brand promise.
- Partner with Marketing, Corporate Communications, Customer Experience, OC Advantages, and business leaders to align brand, customer experience, and go-to-market priorities.
- Shape enterprise voice, storytelling, and messaging in partnership with communications and business teams.
- Ensure the brand promise is translated into customer and channel experience principles that make Owens Corning easier to choose, buy, install, specify, and grow with across priority markets.
- Provide leadership for OC Studios, enterprise creative services, design systems, content production, and brand asset management to ensure creative quality, consistency, speed, and scalability.
- Partner with HR and Corporate Communications to connect the enterprise brand to employer brand, employee value proposition, employee advocacy, and internal adoption
Research, Insights, Metrics & Performance
- Lead brand research, market insight, customer insight, and brand measurement to guide enterprise brand, portfolio, and experience decisions.
- Set brand goals, health metrics, awareness measures, equity measures, and performance routines to evaluate progress and impact.
- Translate data and research into executive-level recommendations, investment choices, and measurable brand outcomes.
- Connect brand investment to business performance, including share gain, share of wallet, customer lifetime value, ROI, and long-term enterprise value.
- Establish the executive reporting cadence for brand health, adoption, activation progress, and commercial impact, including linkage to LRP and enterprise processes.
Agency, Vendor & Partner Relationship Leadership
- Lead agency, vendor, and external partner relationships that support enterprise brand strategy, creative execution, research, and activation.
- Negotiate and steward external brand partner contracts, operating rhythms, service levels, and deliverables.
- Lead co-branding, sponsorship, and enterprise trade show brand opportunities in partnership with business and marketing leaders.
- Oversee brand budgets, tools, operations, and investment trade-offs across the enterprise brand portfolio.
People Leadership & Enterprise Capability Building
- Build, coach, and develop the Enterprise Brand Center of Excellence and future brand leadership bench.
- Align roles and responsibilities between enterprise brand and business brand/marketing teams to reduce fragmentation and improve accountability.
- Assess current and future brand capability gaps, then build the team, routines, and operating mechanisms required to close them.
- Model executive presence, enterprise leadership, collaboration, and change leadership while bringing leaders along through a compelling brand narrative.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Brand, Communications, Business, or related field, or equivalent experience.
- 15+ years of progressive experience in brand strategy, enterprise marketing, communications, customer experience, or a closely related discipline.
- Demonstrated experience setting brand strategy, architecture, standards, and governance in a complex, enterprise-scale organization.
- Experience influencing senior executives and aligning cross-functional leaders behind a common brand agenda.
- Proven ability to translate research, market insight, and customer insight into brand strategies and measurable business decisions.
- Experience leading external agencies, vendors, partners, budgets, and performance routines.
- Demonstrated people leadership experience, including building capability, developing leaders, and leading through ambiguity or transformation.
- Strong commercial acumen with the ability to connect brand investment to growth, ROI, customer impact, and enterprise value.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Master’s degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Communications, or related field.
- Experience in a global, matrixed, manufacturing, building products, industrial, or multi-business-unit environment.
- Experience leading or partnering across adjacent functions such as Corporate Communications, Customer Experience, Product Marketing, Demand Generation, or Enterprise Marketing.
- Experience building a brand center of excellence, operating model, governance process, or brand transformation roadmap.
- Demonstrated success preparing an organization for major brand activation or enterprise brand launch.
- Ability to balance enterprise consistency with business credibility, customer relevance, and market-specific execution.
- Strong storytelling, executive communication, and change leadership skills.
- Experience linking brand activation to customer experience, employee engagement, commercial outcomes, and executive performance reporting.
