About the Role
As an Associate III, BPS Operations Processing, you will play a critical role in ensuring accurate and timely pension payment processing for clients and beneficiaries. You will manage high-volume transaction workflows, support payment distribution activities, and help maintain operational excellence across multiple processing systems. This position is based in Atlanta and requires working onsite five days per week. Success in this role is measured through accuracy, efficiency, compliance, attention to detail, and consistent delivery of payment operations.
What You Will Be Doing
• Process pension payments through ACH and check disbursement methods with a high degree of accuracy and timeliness.
• Oversee daily physical check production activities, supporting volumes of approximately 800 to 1,000 checks per day.
• Load check stock into production printers and safely handle boxes of materials required for daily processing operations.
• Validate payment data, transaction details, and supporting documentation before release and distribution.
• Coordinate check sealing, postage application, and overnight delivery preparation to ensure timely delivery.
• Utilize and navigate three processing systems to execute, monitor, and reconcile payment transactions.
• Investigate processing exceptions, discrepancies, and returned payments, ensuring prompt resolution.
• Maintain accurate records and audit-ready documentation for all payment activities.
• Adhere to operational procedures, quality standards, regulatory requirements, and risk controls.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to improve workflow efficiency and customer service outcomes.
Required Qualifications
• High school diploma or skills-based equivalent; additional education in business, finance, operations, or related fields is a plus.
• Experience in payment processing, financial operations, transaction processing, banking operations, or related environments.
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage high-volume workloads accurately.
• Ability to work in a production environment requiring standing, movement, and regular lifting and handling of heavy boxes of check stock and processing materials.
• Demonstrated ability to follow established procedures and comply with operational controls and quality standards.
• Proficiency using multiple systems and applications simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills with a customer-focused mindset.
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience processing pension, retirement, benefits, or financial disbursement payments.
• Knowledge of ACH payment processes and check distribution operations.
• Experience supporting print, mail, fulfillment, or document processing environments.
• Familiarity with transaction reconciliation, exception handling, and audit support activities.
• Experience working in high-volume operational processing environments with strict accuracy requirements.
