Mulilo develops, constructs and operates utility scale wind, solar PV and battery energy storage projects across South Africa. The company currently operates 450 MW of wind and solar capacity, with a further 765 MW under construction. Mulilo has concluded power purchase agreements under the South African government’s Renewable Energy Independent Power Producer Procurement Programme (REIPPPP), as well as private offtake agreements with several large corporate energy users.

About this role
The Graduate in Asset Management will support the Asset Manager and Asset Management team. The graduate will support the Asset Manager in the daily management of all commercial, contractual, technical, regulatory, and reporting obligations across the operational projects within Mulilo’s portfolio, with a focus on financial analysis, financial model updates and performance forecasting.
Duties and responsibilities
- Financial model updating and analysis. Update financial models to assess trends, forecast performance and analyses project performance.
- Use tools like Excel and PowerBI to analyze to visualize data and provide management recommendations.
- Manage dashboards to track real-time financial, technical and operational performance.
- Make recommendations to the Asset Management Team using data analytics.
- Create presentations and perform ad-hoc analysis.
- Lenders Relationship Management - calculating and monitoring debt covenants and other key financial metrics per financial forecasts.
- Prepare and submit monthly, quarterly and annual reports using data analytics and dashboards.
- Day-to-day operations of the projects: Understand and ensure all project activities are aligned to all project financing, offtake, self-build and consultancy agreements including the monitoring, analysis and assessment of all payments of the plant against the financial model and approved budgets.
- Track and ensure the project is compliant with all its obligations under the various contracts, laws, regulations, authorisations and permits.
- Manage the delivery tracker for projects, board pack collation for board meetings.
- Assisting with coordinating board meetings and following up on action items.
- Assist in identifying, classifying, mitigating and monitoring project risks.
Required qualifications and experience.
- University Degree in Engineering or Finance.
- High proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (experience in Power BI is beneficial).
- Strong analytical skills, strategic and problem-solving ability.
- Good technical understanding of renewable energy principles.
- Ability to manage several projects with time-sensitive project deliverables simultaneously and deliver them on time.
- Excellent written and spoken communication skills and excellence in report writing.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to work with contractors, advisors, consultants and staff in a team environment.

The position is based at Mulilo's Cape Town offices. Occasional travel to project and construction sites may be required in line with business needs.
