Process Engineer LNG & Power

Position Overview
We are seeking a technically strong Process Engineer with extensive experience in LNG liquefaction, regasification, and power generation facilities to support the development and execution of major EPC projects. This role will be responsible for process engineering activities from FEED through detailed design, commissioning, and startup , with a focus on delivering high-quality process design packages and ensuring technical integrity throughout the project lifecycle. The ideal candidate brings deep expertise in process simulation, cryogenic systems, thermodynamics, equipment specification, and process safety , along with a demonstrated track record supporting complex industrial projects in an EPC environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain process engineering deliverables including: Design Basis Memoranda (DBM)
- Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs)
- Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs)
- Heat and Material Balances
- Process and Equipment Datasheets
- Utility Consumption Summaries
- Perform steady-state process simulations using Aspen HYSYS or equivalent software to establish process design criteria and validate plant performance.
- Execute equipment sizing and design calculations for major process equipment, including: Cryogenic Heat Exchangers
- LNG Vaporizers
- Distillation and Fractionation Columns
- Compressors
- Pumps
- Pressure Relief Systems
- Develop process operating envelopes and evaluate plant performance, operability, controllability, and safety.
- Support HAZID, HAZOP, SIL, and process safety reviews throughout project execution.
- Prepare technical specifications, equipment requisitions, and bid evaluation packages.
- Interface with mechanical, piping, instrumentation, electrical, and project engineering disciplines to ensure design integration.
- Support vendor technical reviews, package management activities, and resolution of engineering queries.
- Participate in constructability reviews, commissioning activities, startup support, and field troubleshooting.
- Ensure compliance with applicable client requirements, industry standards, and project specifications.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Chemical Engineering.
- 10+ years of process engineering experience supporting LNG, natural gas processing, petrochemical, or power generation projects .
- Proven EPC experience with FEED and detailed design execution .
- Strong proficiency in Aspen HYSYS process modeling and simulation.
- Advanced understanding of: Cryogenic process systems
- LNG liquefaction and regasification technologies
- Two-phase flow phenomena
- Heat transfer and thermodynamics
- Fluid flow and hydraulic analysis
- Experience generating and reviewing process engineering deliverables in accordance with EPC quality requirements.
- Strong knowledge of commissioning, startup, and operational support practices.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's Degree in Chemical Engineering.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license, preferably in Texas.
- Experience with LNG export terminals, peak-shaving facilities, or combined-cycle power generation projects.
- Familiarity with: API Standards
- NFPA Codes
- ASME Codes
- LNG industry standards and regulatory requirements
- Experience supporting Gulf Coast energy infrastructure projects.
- Working knowledge of project controls, schedule-driven engineering execution, and cost-conscious design optimization.
Work Environment
- Houston, Texas office location.
- Full-time, on-site position (5 days per week).
- Standard 40-hour work week with opportunities to support field execution, commissioning, and startup activities as required.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $85.00 - $100.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
