Job Title: Test Engineer Job Description The Test Engineer will design, develop, and execute test plans and procedures for mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation & control (I&C) equipment and systems commonly used in industrial, manufacturing, process, and power plant environments. This role focuses on verifying and validating design requirements in close collaboration with system and design engineers. Strong technical writing and clear verbal communication are essential, as the position requires documenting complex tests and results in a precise and professional manner. Experience working under rigorous quality standards, particularly in a nuclear environment and in accordance with NQA-1, is highly valued. The opportunity offers long-term project stability and strong career growth potential within a growing engineering team. Responsibilities

- Collaborate with system and design engineers to develop comprehensive test plans and procedures for mechanical, electrical, and I&C equipment and systems.
- Lead or conduct tests to verify and validate that equipment and systems meet defined design requirements and performance criteria.
- Create detailed, accurate, and well-structured technical documentation, including test plans, test procedures, test reports, and validation summaries.
- Analyze test results, identify issues or deviations, and provide clear recommendations for corrective actions or design improvements.
- Ensure all testing activities align with applicable standards, including nuclear quality assurance practices such as NQA-1 when relevant.
- Communicate test objectives, methodologies, findings, and recommendations clearly and professionally to engineering teams and other stakeholders.
- Use engineering tools and software, including CAD when applicable, to support test development and documentation.
- Contribute to continuous improvement of testing processes, methodologies, and documentation practices within the engineering team.

Essential Skills

- 510 years of experience testing equipment and systems in industrial, manufacturing, process, and/or power plant environments.
- Hands-on experience with mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation & control (I&C) systems.
- Proven ability to develop detailed test plans and procedures for complex equipment and systems.
- Demonstrated experience leading or conducting tests to verify and validate design requirements.
- Strong technical writing skills with the ability to produce clear, concise, and accurate test documentation.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills for collaborating with engineering teams and presenting test results.
- Ability to work effectively in environments that require rigorous quality assurance and compliance standards, such as NQA-1.
- Solid analytical and problem-solving skills for interpreting test data and identifying issues.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

- Experience working in a nuclear environment and familiarity with NQA-1 quality assurance standards are a strong plus.
- Proficiency with CAD tools is a plus for supporting test development and documentation.
- Background in industrial, manufacturing, process, or power plant projects supporting long-term engineering initiatives.
- Interest in contributing to large, innovative engineering projects with significant growth potential.
- Ability to thrive in a collaborative, multidisciplinary engineering team.

Work Environment This is an onsite role based at a modern engineering campus in Huntsville. The facility offers a supportive and comfortable environment with amenities such as an onsite cafeteria, gym, and hair salon. Core working hours are 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., with flexibility for different schedules (for example, 6:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. or 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.), allowing team members to choose hours that best fit their needs. The role is part of a growing engineering team engaged in long-term, technically challenging projects, providing project stability and strong opportunities for career development.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Huntsville, AL.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $52.00 - $58.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
