Spine Clinical Sales Specialist
Washington, D.C. & Surrounding Markets | Field-Based | Travel Required

Our client is a growing medical device company specializing in innovative spinal implant solutions used in complex surgical procedures. We’re seeking a Spine Clinical Sales Specialist to support surgeons and OR teams throughout the Washington, D.C. market .
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with 1–3 years of spine experience who wants to build on their clinical expertise and develop a long-term career in medical device sales.
You do not need to come from a traditional sales background. We’re especially interested in candidates with experience in spine clinical support, surgical technology, OR case coverage, clinical education, or associate-level medical device sales.
The Opportunity
This field-based role combines clinical OR support, technical expertise, customer relationship development, and sales training .
You’ll work alongside experienced sales leadership to support spine procedures, develop relationships with surgeons and hospital teams, and gain hands-on exposure to the commercial side of the business.
The long-term opportunity is to grow into a Territory Manager role with increased responsibility for territory development, customer relationships, sales, and account growth.
What You’ll Do
- Provide intraoperative clinical support and case coverage for spine procedures.
- Support surgeons and OR teams with implants, instrumentation, and surgical workflows.
- Prepare, organize, and manage spine implants, instrumentation, and surgical trays.
- Serve as a trusted clinical and technical resource throughout surgical cases.
- Build strong relationships with spine surgeons, OR staff, SPD, and hospital personnel.
- Educate healthcare professionals on product use, instrumentation, and best practices.
- Troubleshoot and problem-solve in a fast-paced OR environment.
- Partner with experienced sales leadership to learn territory management, account development, and sales strategy .
- Develop the knowledge and relationships needed to grow product utilization and customer accounts.
- Maintain accurate case documentation, inventory, and reporting.
- Coordinate instrument restocking and timely return of trays to SPD.
- Support urgent and last-minute cases when needed.
- Travel throughout the D.C. market and surrounding territories based on case volume and customer needs.
Who We’re Looking For
We’re looking for someone who understands the spine OR environment and is ready to take the next step professionally.
Relevant backgrounds may include:
- 1–3 years of orthopedic spine and/or neurosurgical experience
- Spine medical device sales or associate sales experience
- Spine Clinical Specialist or Clinical Associate experience
- Surgical Technologist / CST with spine case experience
- RN or PA with meaningful spine OR experience
- Surgical support or clinical education experience within spine
- Medical device professionals with strong spine exposure who are looking to grow commercially
Traditional sales experience is not required. Strong spine knowledge, surgical experience, customer-facing skills, and a desire to develop within medical device sales are highly valued.
Qualifications
- 1–3+ years of relevant spine, neurosurgical, orthopedic, OR, or medical device experience
- Hands-on familiarity with spine implants, instrumentation, and surgical workflows
- Comfortable providing clinical support in the OR
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills
- Professional presence and ability to build credibility with surgeons and OR teams
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail
- Comfortable working independently in a field-based environment
- Willingness to travel throughout the D.C. area and surrounding markets
- Ability to adapt to changing surgical schedules and last-minute case needs
- Bachelor's degree preferred; equivalent relevant clinical or industry experience may be considered
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation required
