About this role

The Paint Process Engineer will be the technical subject matter expert on Pre-treatment and Ecoat process (PTED). They will be expected to determine the most effective method(s) of processing using while improving cycle times, reducing downtime, lowering cost, and driving improvements in overall Paint quality to ensure the continued performance of the process.

- Technical management of PTED process area and associated equipment
- Evaluate and improve processes to guarantee an effective use of resources to reduce environmental impact
- Ensure PTED is capable of meeting specified requirements
- Continually monitor process Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s)
- Assess/analyze current processes and drive improvement projects for Safety, Environment, Quality, Throughput, and Cost
- Ensure critical process parameters are properly documented according to Control Plan and tracked using Statistical Process Control (SPC) methodologies
- Continually monitor key product characteristics
- Interact with Quality team to correct, contain, and resolve product quality concerns
- Support new model/product/material introductions in coordination with Design Engineering, New Product Introduction team, Quality, Environment and other parties as needed
- Lead engineering techs in day to day operations of their process

- Bachelor’s Degree in Manufacturing, Industrial, Mechanical, Chemical Engineering or equivalent experience
- +5 Years’ experience in the paint automotive field
- Deep knowledge in automotive PTED process including experience in managing resources to guarantee an efficient use of material
- Experience in environmental awareness and actions to minimize impact
- Ability to apply fundamental engineering principles to identify and drive non-standard solutions to solve manufacturing constraints
- Ability to work in rapidly changing environment with minimal guidance, self-starter, yet team player
- Ability to manage one or more projects involving cross-functional teams
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills when working with internal groups and outside vendors
- Proficiency in AutoCad, Catia, or Solid Works is a plus
- Proficient in Microsoft Office

Expected Compensation $84,000 - $180,000/annual salary + cash and stock awards + benefits
Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered.
