About this role
The KDC Solutions Tech supports continuous improvement initiatives by assisting in the design, construction, modification, testing, and implementation of kaizen solutions and karakuri systems. This role is responsible for building and repairing basic Creform/SUS structures, supporting prototype development, and helping implement improvements on the production floor. The position requires the ability to read and interpret basic drawings, verify measurements, identify visible defects and inefficiencies, and assist with troubleshooting during development and implementation activities.
Position Responsibilities may include;
- Assist in building basic prototype structures for kaizen ideas
- Follow provided drawings or direction to support prototype development
- Support testing of prototypes and identify basic issues
- Assist in modifying existing kaizen structures and karakuri systems
- Identify visible issues such as misalignment, instability, or inefficiency
- Build, modify, and repair basic structures using Creform/SUS
- Follow build standards and ensure proper assembly
- Support installation on production floor
- Assist in implementation on production floor
- Identify root cause of problems that occur during implementation
- Read and understand basic drawings and layouts
- Recognize basic dimensions and identify simple errors
- Understand and verify basic measurements (inside/outside dimensions)
- Use measuring tools to ensure accuracy during builds
- Recognize basic forms of waste in processes and builds
- Support efforts to reduce inefficiencies
- Support team members during kaizen activities
- Assist with basic coordination tasks
- Support documentation of kaizen activities
- Assist in tracking basic progress
- Identify problems during builds and report them
- Assist in basic troubleshooting efforts
Nature & Scope:
- Has working knowledge and skills to perform a defined set of analytical/scientific methods or operational processes
- Applies experience and skills to complete assigned work within own area of expertise
- Works within standard operating procedures and/or scientific methods
- Works with a moderate degree of supervision
Knowledge & Skills:
- Understanding of basic construction principles (structure stability, alignment, fitment)
- Ability to recognize correct vs incorrect builds
- Basic comprehension of technical drawings and dimensions
- Awareness of safety risks and quality expectations
- Foundational understanding of lean concepts (waste, 5S)
Experience:
- 1-2 years of manufacturing experience
Education/Certification:
- High school diploma or GED
People Management: No

Must be able to perform essential responsibilities with or without reasonable accommodations
Physically able to participate in training sessions, presentations and meetings. Some travel may be required.
