Role Overview

We are seeking a Merchandising Manager to own merchandising and inventory planning for our Design Shops, ensuring the retail assortment is thoughtfully curated, well-stocked, and positioned for growth as we expand locations across the U.S. This role combines buy planning, merchandising strategy, and vendor management, and is ideal for someone who pairs strong analytical skills with creative merchandising instincts in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment.

Responsibilities

- Own buy planning and merchandising strategy: including demand forecasting, procurement schedules, and a merchandising calendar to keep buying and assortment decisions aligned with seasonal launches and business goals

- Analyze sales performance, including sell-through and inventory turn, to inform assortment and reorder decisions across Design Shop locations

- Manage inventory levels across Design Shop locations, including replenishment and new product buys

- Place purchase orders, negotiate pricing and volume discounts, and manage vendor relationships in coordination with Finance and Logistics

- Partner with Visual Merchandising and Branding on store layouts, product adjacencies, and display strategy; develop and maintain a merchandising style guide for consistent presentation across locations

- Partner with Visual Merchandising and Space Planning on hot zones and in-store storytelling for new Design Shop location launches

- Collaborate with local Design Shop teams on pop-ups, special retail activations, and biannual sales, including SKU lists, pricing, and coordination with Marketing and Events teams

- Maintain the Design Shop website by launching new products and partnering with Branding and Art teams on quarterly homepage updates

Qualifications:

- 3-5 years of experience in merchandising or buying (home or lifestyle industry preferred)

- Experience managing vendors, purchase orders, and inbound logistics

- Experience with ERP, inventory, or ecommerce systems (Square, Great Plains / SalesPad)

- Exceptional organizational skills and strong attention to detail

- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment

- Experience with visual merchandising or store layouts

- Interest in interior design, luxury retail, or start-up environments

Work Environment

- Hybrid role, with a minimum of 3 days per week in-person at our SoHo corporate office

- Some travel to Design Shop locations may be required to support new location installs

Salary Range $60,000 — $85,000 USD
