Exciting Opportunity at MSK: We are seeking a Unit Assistant to join our team at the Josie Robertson Surgery Center. This role serves as a key liaison between patients, guests, and Memorial Sloan Kettering staff and plays a critical role in shaping the patient experience. As a Unit Assistant, you will ensure accurate and timely order processing, coordinate services across teams, and respond to patient inquiries with professionalism, empathy, and efficiency. Every day, your work helps patients receive the care and support they need, keeps clinical teams running smoothly, and ensures the unit operates seamlessly.
Role Overview:
- Address patient and family inquiries by delivering high-quality customer service and coordinating with clinical and administrative staff
- Handle multiple priorities simultaneously in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy and professionalism
- Use internal systems and established protocols to support patient flow, order entry, and service coordination
- Partner closely with nursing and clinical teams to ensure patient needs are addressed promptly
- Maintain a calm, respectful, and positive demeanor when handling stressful or time-sensitive situations
- Provide administrative and operational support to the unit, contributing to overall efficiency and patient satisfaction
Key Qualifications:
- 2+ years of experience as a Unit Secretary, MA, or experience in a similar healthcare or fast-paced administrative environment
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with patients, families, and multidisciplinary teams
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills, with attention to detail
- Intermediate computer skills, with the ability to efficiently navigate Epic, or other EMR systems.

Additional Information:
- Location: Josie Robertson Surgery Center - 1133 York Avenue, New York, NY
- Schedule: 5 x 8-hour flexed shifts between 1pm-11pm; Monday through Friday, weekend and holiday rotation
- Reports To: Nurse Leader

Pay Range: $24.05 - $36.21
