Job Summary:

The Assembly Lead position involves leading one or more teams in the execution of the production/manufacturing processes. The primary responsibility of the Assembly Lead is to ensure the assigned work is completed in a timely manner; this includes assigning and explaining daily tasks to associates; monitoring work progress and compliance with policies and procedures; training and assisting associates. The Assembly Lead will work with the Management to improve processes in the production/manufacturing areas.

Job Duties:

The Structural Assembler is responsible for assembling structural components used in Panelmatic's custom-built power distribution and packaged equipment systems. This position works from engineering drawings, blueprints, and job specifications to accurately measure, fit, assemble, and secure structural components.

The Structural Assembler will use a variety of hand and power tools to complete assemblies while maintaining high standards for safety, quality, and productivity. The ideal candidate has experience in structural assembly, fabrication, construction, manufacturing, or a similar hands-on environment and is comfortable working with steel and reading industrial drawings.

Job Duties

- Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and job specifications to determine assembly requirements.
- Measure, mark, cut, fit, and assemble structural components according to drawings and specifications.
- Assemble structural frames, bases, platforms, supports, and other components used in custom equipment and electrical systems.
- Work with structural steel materials, including C-channel, I-beam, angle iron, plate, and other fabricated components.
- Use hand tools and power tools such as drills, impact drivers, grinders, measuring tools, and torque tools.
- Drill, bolt, fasten, and secure structural components according to engineering and production requirements.
- Verify dimensions, alignment, fit, and overall quality of completed assemblies.
- Identify material, drawing, or assembly issues and communicate them to the Lead or Supervisor.
- Follow production drawings, work instructions, quality requirements, and established manufacturing procedures.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
- Properly use required personal protective equipment (PPE) and follow all safety policies and procedures.
- Assist with material handling and positioning of structural components as required.
- Work cooperatively with Structural Assemblers, Welders, Fitters, Electrical Assemblers, Leads, and Supervisors to complete projects.
- Meet established production schedules while maintaining quality standards.
- Inspect completed work for accuracy and report any defects or discrepancies.
- Properly care for and maintain tools and equipment.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Lead or Supervisor.

Requirements

Minimum Qualifications:

- Previous experience in structural assembly, fabrication, construction, manufacturing, or a related hands-on trade preferred.
- Ability to read and understand basic blueprints, drawings, measurements, and work instructions.
- Basic knowledge of hand and power tools.
- Ability to use measuring tools such as a tape measure, square, level, and other basic layout tools.
- Ability to read, write, and communicate in English.
- Ability to work safely in a manufacturing environment.
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- US work authorization without sponsorship required.
- Ability to pass required physical, drug, and background checks.
- Ability to physically push, pull, lift, and carry materials weighing 50 lbs. or more.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, reach, and work in various positions for extended periods.
- Alignment with Panelmatic's core values required.

Preferred Qualifications:

- One or more years of experience in structural assembly, steel fabrication, manufacturing, construction, or a related field.
- Experience assembling structural steel or industrial equipment.
- Experience working from industrial or fabrication drawings.
- Experience using power tools, impact drivers, grinders, drills, and other shop equipment.
- Experience in an industrial manufacturing environment.
- Experience with electrical equipment, switchgear, electrical enclosures, or packaged equipment is a plus.
- Welding or fitting experience is a plus.
