About the Role

We are looking for an enthusiastic individual with strong analytical skills and coding skills to join our algorithm development and data analytics team at MiniMed in Northridge, CA. The position involves the support of research and development of medical devices related to continuous glucose monitors. The individual will work with members of research staff to improve the performance of continuous glucose sensors through the application of machine learning, analytics, signal processing and mathematical modeling and experimentation. The role will involve all aspects of the research and development, including data processing, analysis, theory development and validation.

Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned.

- Contributes to innovation, research and development in glucose-sensing technology, including the transition of research concepts into algorithm development, simulation, and modeling.
- Analyzes large sensor, clinical, and physiological datasets to generate verifiable conclusions and address open technical questions.
- Under general supervision, applies machine learning, signal processing, statistical analysis, and mathematical modeling to develop and evaluate algorithms using MATLAB or Python.
- Translates algorithm requirements and technical concepts into maintainable, well-documented, and high-quality code.
- Develops algorithms and software solutions by analyzing technical needs, workflows, and system requirements while following software development lifecycle best practices.
- Performs algorithm implementation, testing, debugging, validation, and performance optimization.
- Applies data analysis and algorithm evaluation results to support product development decisions and clinical study design.
- Contributes to complex projects to meet technical performance, quality, and schedule objectives.
- Prepares technical and scientific documentation, including engineering reports, algorithm descriptions, test plans, validation documents, diagrams, flowcharts, and visualizations.
- Presents technical concepts, analytical results, and project outcomes to technical and non-technical audiences.
- Supports multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
- Demonstrates strong organizational, communication, collaboration, and multitasking skills.

Required Knowledge and Experience:

Requires a Bachelor's Degree and minimum of 2 years of relevant experience, or advanced degree with 0 years of experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

- Experience with sensor data.
- Deep technical aptitude.
- Experience with signal processing, statistical analysis, and MATLAB and Python.

Salary ranges for U.S (excl. PR) locations (USD):$87,000 - $149,000

For roles located in California, Seattle WA, Washington DC, Boston MA, and New York City, the salary range is $97,000.00 - $165,000.00.

Actual compensation may vary based on factors including experience, education, certifications, skills, market conditions, internal equity, and geographic location. Compensation and benefits information pertains solely to candidates hired within the United States (local market compensation and benefits will apply for others).
