About this role

We are looking for an experienced and proactive Manager, Maintenance Planning to join our Packaging Maintenance team based in Shah Alam, Selangor.

In this role, you will lead the maintenance planning function, ensuring effective planning, scheduling, and governance of preventive, predictive, corrective, and condition-based maintenance activities. You will play a key role in improving equipment reliability, optimizing maintenance performance, driving Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) excellence, and minimizing production downtime while ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards.

What you’ll be doing

- Lead and manage maintenance planning and scheduling activities to ensure resources, spare parts, and maintenance tasks are effectively coordinated and executed

- Act as the site CMMS superuser and champion by driving system compliance , maintaining data quality, and ensuring all maintenance activities are managed through the system.

- Develop and maintain preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance plans to enhance equipment reliability and operational efficiency

- Manage maintenance backlogs and work order quality through effective prioritization, planning, execution tracking, and closure governance

- Drive the implementation of running-hours-based maintenance strategies to improve asset performance and reduce unnecessary maintenance interventions

- Support condition-based maintenance initiatives by integrating inspection results, equipment condition monitoring, and maintenance data into planning activities

- Develop and maintain maintenance dashboards and Key Performance Index reporting to provide visibility on compliance, reliability, backlog status, costs, and asset performance

- Coordinate plant shutdowns, overhauls, and major inspections to ensure critical maintenance activities are completed safely and effectively

- Collaborate with Production, Engineering, Maintenance, Spare Parts, and external service providers to optimize maintenance execution and reliability outcomes

- Lead continuous improvement and reliability initiatives through data analysis, root cause problem solving, and maintenance best practices

Requirements:

- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Automation/Mechatronics, Industrial Engineering, Maintenance Management, or a related discipline.

- Minimum 7-10 years of experience in maintenance, engineering, or maintenance planning within a manufacturing environment.

- Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in maintenance planning or maintenance execution within FMCG, food & beverage, manufacturing, or process industries.

- Strong experience in maintenance planning, scheduling, and reliability management.

- Hands-on experience with CMMS, SAP, or other maintenance management systems.

- Knowledge of preventive, predictive, corrective, and condition-based maintenance methodologies.

- Experience managing maintenance teams, contractors, and maintenance budgets.

- Good understanding of maintenance cost control and spare parts management.

- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and reporting capabilities.

- Knowledge of Safety, Quality, and Environmental requirements within a manufacturing environment.

- Willingness to support maintenance activities during shutdowns, weekends, or public holidays when required.
